The moves are the same, but you have to do them EXACTLY!!! It was
almost impossible to pull off special moves in SF1 (because they took off
1/3 to 1/2 of your opponent's life bar).

SF1 has the same moves as SF2.. ie. Dragon, Fireball and Cyclone. However,
the moves are near impossible to get out because it was very poorly programmed
and the joystick movement's aren't precise enough... or whatever!?
When it was in our arcade several years a go, the best thing to do- waggle the
joystick in the down-forward area and hit punch.. and hopefully you will get
the dragon or fireball.... and guess what?.. yes!.. waggle the stick in the
down-back area and hit kick for the cyclone!!
With a bit of practise, it's possible to distinguish between how you waggle
so that you get a fireball or dragon... so once you got the dragon punch
nearly sussed... you can beat the CPU just by doing dragon punches! I have to
say... Adon is a right bastard!!

Yeah the move are all the same, though like the timing really sucks.
Oh I just fiund arcade about 15 mile from my home that still has SF1!!!
It was sp nostalgic. It brought me back to the days of the big buttons,
and hit witht the elbows and everything, though I had forgotton how hard
a game it was to play, couldn't get past the secong guy, Geeki was it?
Anyways I just though I'd say that.

Haha, I remember back then when I had me and my friend play that game.
We once had this strange idea: I would control the joystick and my friend
would simply press jab punch or fierce punch (or sometimes, depending on
the machine, there would be just 2 HUGE rubber buttons to _SLAM_ on) like
there was no tomorrow. In fact, with me wiggling the stick from forward
to down repetitively, and he rapidly pressing the 2 punches, we would
beat the game with little trouble. It was crazy however since Ryu (I
never bothered with player 2 side) threw either a fireball or dragon
punch, at random as well as every second. Thus, if you were close to the
opponent, we would end up scoring about 3 fast fireballs in a row
finished by a a flurry of jabs and an occasional dragon punch (and man,
did the dragon punch take off a chunk of energy in SF1). The hurricane
kick was a pain to pull off. The movements for the DP, FB, and HK were
basically that of SF2. It's just not easy. And if one were to try what
my friend and I did, the result would serve as a screen full of FB's,
jabs, and DP's. And the trick was to stay as close to the opponent as
possible (with the exception of Mike, who (if you got too close) would
finish you off _rather_ quickly with 4 blows).

Since I'm still reminiscing about SF1, I'd like to add that sound on the
machine was so muffled that I could've sworn that the FB sounded like
"round-player or round-flare", the DP as "double-punch" or possibly
"dragon-punch" and HK as it was: "hurricane kick". And on a final note,
fighting Adon was not fun. =)

either i saw you guys in the metrocenter arcade in phoenix years ago, or it
was a common strategy used by a lot of players. what was that, the first
analog input device in a video game? anyways, i liked the six button layout
much better (rare for an sf1 machine from what i've heard).

all i remember is, you couldn't block fireballs. it sorta made sense, cause,
anytime someone would actually be able to throw one, it meant they must have
done something right.

i think he said, 'fiGht fIrE!!' for the fireballs. i think that's why
they're called 'fireballs' to this day, isn't it? i mean, for most of ryu's
projectiles, don't they look more like iceballs? something got lost in the
translation.

: "dragon-punch" and HK as it was: "hurricane kick". And on a final note,

I believe there are still some SF1 machines at various Hamton Beach
arcades. Check it out.

Thanks for every ones help with this subject!

Trouble is that I've killed my Arcade machine because of too much
waggling trying to pull off a dragon punch :(

SFI sux!
