It is claimed that a leak from Wizards of the Coast indicates that the
Open Gaming License will be modified in ways that make it problematic
for companies that are in the business of making game content built
around the game mechanics of Dungeons and Dragons.

So I guess that third-party publishers will need to shift to another
RPG system. Are there any candidates?
Goodman Games' Dungeon Crawl Classics and OSRIC are both OGL licensed
products, so they're not candidates.
Chaosium's Basic Role-Playing, on the other hand, is independent, so
they could choose to license it. And there's also RuneQuest and
Chivalry and Sorcery as non-OGL commercial RPGs.
