Playing Times/Events: We're a pretty active channel according to our
channel stats, but our highest activity is between 7pm and 2am EST. We
also run what we call Random Encounters once a week where we spring
small channel events on whoever is playing, as well as scheduled RP
events that progress the channel's story.
Description: In the gritty frontier city of Sundown, a hope for a
brighter dawn rises from the ashes of civil war against the tyranny of
vampires that held control over the population for over three hundred
years through guile, deception and mind control through the blood.
Now, as the city breathes its first breath of fresh air, the fight to
establish itself as a prosperous port city and rid itself of villainy
that lurks both within and around her borders begins.
Tales of the Whispering Raven is the latest incarnation of an online
game that has been running for over twenty years between AOL and IRC
based on the World of Imarel. The constantly growing, well-documented
setting offers players the ability to effect the future of the city
and its role in world affairs through both scheduled storyteller
events and 'random encounters' that occur spontaneously during main
channel gaming. The setting is semi-freeform (meaning there are some
basic guidelines) with a unique medieval steam-western sort of
environment to give participants a blend of high fantasy magic, old
world firearms such as flintlocks and cannons, steam-powered items
with a small taste of technomancy; the marriage technology and magic
together that can produce some startling results.
While there are highly detailed canon races and classes to play, home-
brewed characters are just as welcomed in our setting and can just as
easily fit in to the action. There are also no sign ups or character
sheets to fill out; just give the rules and setting a look over and
come join us for the fun!
