Not Riven, but question about Myst

May be an old question, but I need help. I had Myst Masterpiece Edition
running on my computer just fine (Windows XP). Somewhere along the line,
something became corrupt. I uninstalled, then re-installed Myst. Even though
all sounds and voices are still there, everything is extremely statically.
Sound is fine on other games, including Riven.
