Hey whats up all. Well I just recently purchased RE survivor. It was fun
and all but I was very disappointed with the over all effort or better
lack of effort that was put into the game. I feel like I was cheated out
of my thirty bucks. Did any one else feel this way after completing the
game.

Wow, a on topic post

I rented the game a few days ago and played it for a few hours the other
night. I got pretty far but then I lost insterest. I played it on the easy
difficulty and kept finding shotgun shells and shit but I never found
anything except for a pistol weapon wise. I didn't really look too hard
though. I got more into the story then the gameplay. I like the story alot
and I like how it kept me wanting to play so I can find out the entire
story. The gameplay was weak though. Too doom like and I never was into
the whole first person thing except for Half Life.

The characters are interesting and the new enemies are fun. But it would
have been a better game if it used the same third person perspective. But I
guess Capcom wanted to try something. Not one of Capcom's best but
definatley not their worse. I think the last 50 million Mega Mans have been
far worse. Survivor is great for those of us who didn't get Code Name
Veronica though. That is until it comes out for the PC which it better.

ARE YOU LISTENING CAPCOM???

Probably not, they saw our Silent Hill posts and cried and ran away

We got Survivor a while back in the UK (first time that's happened!)
and although it starts off quite boring, it get's _very_ intense towards the
end.

As for Code Veronica, I thought it was way overrated, not a patch on the psx
games.

No. They're busy making Super Street Fighter Ultra Turbo Beta x10 64.

What I thought would have made the game better is actual SUPPORT for the
actual GUN that was the actual POINT of the game. Since Capcom obviously
didn't put a whole lot of effort into the story or characters -- then again,
this is Capcom -- the clear purpose of Survivor was to make a genuinely
immersive game, where you can finally see through the eyes of the
characters. And hey, they did a good job there. It's *scary* when zombies
pop out of nowhere and get all in your face. It's also fun to run around a
deserted city (the atmosphere is my favorite part of Resident Evil games).
But having to use a controller completely ruins the mood! Why did Capcom
even port the damn thing here if it's only half a game??

I'm not familar with the guncon. Is there a D-pad or hat switch on it for
directional control, like on the DC light, guns, or do you have to use a
regular PSX controller in conjunction with it to play RE:S?

It would totally suck WITH the guncon. I mean, look at how the game is run.
Maybe if they improved the gameplay in a way that GUNcon wont fuck it up,
that would be awsome!

The whole point of the first person perspective was to make a shooter and
not another actual Resident Evil sequel. The concept would have been lost if
it were in third person and the game would have been seen as a poorly made
sequel.

It all comes down to one thing, do you like shooter (Doom, Quake etc...)? If
you don't then you won't like this shooter no matter what the name. I only
hope Capcom makes a sequel and does it better, the concept was good but the
execution was flawed.

To answer your questions, no and no respectivly. The guncon was designed by
Namco for Time Crisis and Pint Blank both of which have preset movement and
do not require a dpad. It has two buttons only, no start or select either.
Elemental Gearbolt is another good lightgun game to use the Guncon.

There is no effective way to use the guncon in a freemovement game. The
trigger is used to walk when pointed off screen.

Sounds like the game would be pretty retarded with the gun then ^_^.
