I never played it but I heard the reviews were horrible and that only die hard
fans should get the game. As far as the g-con goes that is only for the
japanese import, when the game comes to the US you won't be able to use the gun
with it (which sucks). I asked about this game not to long ago and one person
said that it wasn't bad but its far from a great game.

I live in the UK and I picked it up the other day (Is it really out here
before the US........JEEEESUSSS). Its not up to the standard of other
RE games. The cut scenes are FMA, but the graphics aren't polished
enough to carry it of. Its still a great game, but don't even dream of
playing it with the G-CON45. Here's a quick run down of the characters,
story and ending (POSSIBLE SPOILERS):

(Very) Basic plot is that your character loses his memory after trying
to escape a small infected island. It turns out that the Umbrella corp
has been kidnapping kids from all over the world, as the process of
creating tyrants entails extracting a chemical from pubescent youth.
This chemical is created in the brain when the subject is in pain and is
in fear, therefore un-anaesthetised lobotomies. You have to rescue a
couple of kids, discover your identity and get of the island.

Its worth noting that the origins of various BOWs. Before I write the
next line, dont mail me telling me the effects of the T virus, because
this is what is said in the game, and you know what Capcom is like with
virus effects consistency.

The licker is a zombie infected with T virus. Therefore the patchy skin
and exposed brain. The hunter is a human infected with T (Don't ask me
why this wouldn't zombiefy).

Vincent-

The character you play. He loses his memory after a
helicopter crash. He goes through most of the game thinking he is the
evil head of the local branch of Umbrella, but comes to remember that he
is in fact named Arc Thomson, a detective friend of Leons, sent to dig
up the dirt.

Andy

He is a pygmy sewer manager, who because of your efforts to impersonate
Vincent before the crash, is hell bent on killing you because of the
islands infection.

Lott

Young English kid (I think that's what his accent is supposed to be).
Along with his sister, it becomes your mission to save them. A bit
reminiscent of the Sherry/Claire situation in RE2.

The real Vincent

Head of the local Umbrella branch. Feared by the locals, and
specialises in lobotomising kids without anaesthetic.

Cleaners

Look like hunk from RE2, but walk like monkeys. Sent in by Umbrella to
clean up. Carry machine guns.

Head cleaner

Mean looking guy with gas mask. He deploys the cleaners.

Tyrant

As well as the army of soldier tyrants, the end boss is an unformed
tyrant, and the battle occurs in almost identical surroundings as the
one in RE. It first appears in the lab, with a child like appearance.
After a beating it comes back to get you on the helipad. It looks like
a regular tyrant, but has a gaping mouth full of razor sharps. After
another beating it goes though an extremely cool animation sequence. It
turns into a huge bloated ape like tyrant.

Ending (Spoiler)

Extremely cool. You rescue the two kids and escape in the chopper. Just
when its looking rosy, you hear a banging on the belly. The tyrant has
grasped the legs, and is pulling itself up. It appears at the window,
but before it gets a chance to break though, Arc fires one of the
missiles, which carries it off into the distance. Arc fires a second
missile, which blows the tyrant to pieces. Cue hamm, cue credits.

list of monsters (Maybe not all, only completed twice up to now);-

zombies
cerberus
spiders
lickers (both kinds)
hunters (RE style)
moths
Bugs
giant alligators (Two of)
Ivy
Soldier Tyrants
Tyrant (RE)

Its nice to hear someone else opinion ""who has actually played the game"".I
think many people are missing the point. It is a great game but it does have
flaws.. I'm in the U.S & I must thank you for basically translating the files
for me, since I only have the jap version much of tha info was lost to me. I
liked the game & the story. I have to know one thing though. how did you fare
against the gators?. you right about the guncon though. I get my ass kicked
when I use it.

I agree with the points about the graphics, it looks like it was
rushed out in a hurry or something. The cut scenes could have done
with more work on them to polish it up a little. But once you're
actually playing the game you don't notice when you're blasting away.
I didn't expect it to be so short though..... maybe around 2.5 hours
start to finish. When it was over the feeling was, um.. is that it?

Also a pity that I couldn't shoot heads off with the Magnum, arms and
legs etc with the Shotgun.

I forgot where I got mine from it might have been GAME..... but they
were doing a deal with a small Scorpion lightgun with g-con adaptor
for 39 ukp. I needed a new one anyway so I got that package and I was
determined to get some use out of it. If you stick with it long
enough it becomes easier, honest! Just a question of remember what
does what depending on where you point it.

I died first time :) , its really hard if you don't have the ammo. The
second time I concentrated on the first one, and got past it just in
time.

Ooops I missed that :o) Did you freak out a bit when you saw those
rows and rows of Mr Xs being made in the tanks? (Even wasted a few
shots trying to wake them up but no joy)

The boss tyrant scared me more :) He just didn't want to die, and I had
zero ammo. I also tried to shoot the tanks (It would have been cool if
they had all broken free).
