The G Virus is a True Hepatitis Virus but I don't think the one in RE is the
same virus but again look at some of those zombies WOOOW!

Just a thought...

I wonder how much thought went into naming the virus by the game designers.
It wouldn't sound right if it was the A, B, C, D, E,.... , Q, R, S, etc.
virus would it? Or am I just being alphabetically prejudiced? You don't
have to answer that one... What would be a good name for a new virus, or
should a new Bio-Weapon that is not Virally based be developed by Umbrella?

Well, the T-virus seemed to be used to correspond with the name Tyrant. IIRC,
Wesker even calls it the Tyrant virus in RE1. I think G was just an arbitrary
choice, though I imagine it was no accident that G rhymes with T (so that
leaves B, C, D, E, P, V, and Z as possible future letters, though I'd
scratch V from that list since V-virus just sounds a little too silly).

And how would they make a bio-weapon that wasn't based on a virus? It's my
understanding that all of Umbrella's research is based in one way or another
off of the Mother Virus.

I just meant that there might be other ways to create seriously nasty living
weapons. I don't have a clue (obviously! :-) ), so I was just putting
forward the idea that Umbrella might give up on the virus route and look for
an alternative way to make life fun for the rest of us. Any thoughts?

Wesker's comment about the T standing for "Tyrant" might have just been
his pet name for the virus. See, human DNA is made up of a chain of
chemicals, of which "thymine" and "guanine" are two. In a DNA strand
the thymine (T) bonds with another chemical that starts with the letter
A (sorry, can't remember its name). Guanine in turn bonds with a
chemical that starts with C (again, not sure of the whole name of this
chemical). Therefore our DNA is made up of strings that might look like
AT-GC-GC-GC-AT...etc.

This led me to believe the viruses are named after the part of the
body's DNA for which it mutates. The T virus attacks the thymine, and
the more advanced G virus latches itself to the guanine.

they could use mutagen, like the turtles and splinter.

The ultimate bio weapon.
