I didn't see the subject line. whoops. I've only gotten to mission 2.
You tried mission 10 yet?

hey, i JUST got done with mission 10.
10.1 is the first mission where I see the chaingun-tanks, and
10.2 also has them in it, but isn't as hard. I'll tell you how I beat both
of them, though.
10.1 build your base in the center of the clearing that you start in, and
take
one of the tanks you start with and explore with it. specifically, find a
path to the ore field
on the right hand side, and try not to get wasted. watch out for mines, too
:)
build a barracks, a radar dome, and a weapons factory, with flame towers at
the northern enterance
to the clearing, and inside your base to deal with the paratroopers.
build a second harvester.
start pumping out rocketmen and minnigunners.
when the first chaingunner begins to wind down the path to his base, try to
meet him halfway up,
near the place where the reappearing turret is (you can take that out with
rocketmen, and put fences there to keep it gone)
slow down the game and have the minnigunners attack the soldiers escorting
the chaingunner,
and have the rocketmen focus on the chaingunner. you'll notice that the
chaingunner doesn't
shoot at the rocketmen as much as the machinegunners, and with the right
combo, you can take him down
in about 30 seconds.
save the game :)
at this time, take one of your harvesters, and try to make a run to the
eastern field to get ore.
if he doesn't make it ther and back, reset the game to the saved version,
and try again.
after a couple tries, you should be able to get a steady flow of cash
going,
and unless you shoot at his harvester, the computer will leave you alone.
I managed to sneak a tank into the northwest corner of the map where his
harvester is,
and just waited (with the game on ultra fast) until his harvester came to
the eastern
field because the northern field was empty. then I took about 30 rocketmen
and blew it up. the chaingunner took out all of them, but not until after
the harvester was toast.
after that, he stopped sending guys at me, so I made about 20 tanks and 40
rocketmen,
and just trounced him.
that's how I beat part 1.
Part 2
real easy. make a bunch of turrets and flame turrets, wait until he stops
attacking so much,
make a couple choppers, and a couple subs, take out all his ships,
make a buch of tanks, blow up his buildings,
when the chaingunner comes, stick the choppers on him. Poof. end of
mission.
oh, and why are hinds 2000 when their pads are 1500? I also encountered a
bug
when I sold a helicopter pad, it gave me half a million credits, but when I
tried it again, it didn't. hmm.
well, that's about it. ahve fun :)

Yeah, nice job. Sounds easier than how I did it.
If anyone has trouble with this method I posted a spoiler a few weeks
back, use Deja News to find post titled "Flame Dancers level 10
Spoiler".
I found the next mission a lot easier, I think there was only one chain
tank, but again you seem to have done that one quite well. I used a
transport to send loads of APCs, filled with bazookas and flame
throwers, across to the north of his base and attack with loads. The
chain tanks takes out the vehicles very easily, but the troops destroy
him.
