Hi there

I wonder if it's possible to build anything inside the pyramid in the
Thunderstorm Park !!??
If I try, the rides are placed on the surface on the pyramid (on the
outside) and not inside it. How can I manage this ??

Thanks for your help :-)

You cannot build any flat rides inside the pyramid (even though the game
starts with one inside), but you can make coasters that tunnel into it.

I am still very new to all this, so forgive me if my advice does not
make any sense ;0)

I read a tip on the official site that may apply here. They said a
coaster can be built entirely underground by building it starting
above ground, tunneling underground, then removing the track that is
above ground.

If I understand correctly, the same method could be applied to your
situation?

That is indeed correct.

It's also useful to note that a coaster does not have to be _entirely_
underground to be treated as an "indoor" ride. As long as the majority of
the track (roughly 60 percent or more) is underground, your guests will ride
it in the rain. So, in the case of the Thunderstorm Park scenario, you do
not have to have all of your coasters completely buried within the pyramid.

Another useful fact that while it is raining, guests will ignore their
nausea and/or intensity tolerance to ride an "indoor" coaster so they can
get out of the rain.

Greg.

well, oh great dane, here's what I had to say in my (hopefully soon to be
published) hints...

Mikes Notes: Ok, folks. Lets get one thing straight. That is not a
pyramid, its a mountain. Yes, it has some fancy land that makes it
LOOK like a pyramid, but from a game mechanics point of view its just
one big pile of dirt. Which means that your going to have to dig
holes in it. This points out the one glaring weakness in RCT, IMO,
the inability to put stall, flat rides, or pre-built coasters
underground. So, what's a owner-operator to do with this?? Well,
you have two options. Place your flat rides around the perimeter
of the pyramid, and wind your coaster tracks along the inside,
popping them in and out of the mountain as needed. Remember that the
whole coaster does NOT have to be covered for the game to consider
it 'underground'. You'll have to experiment to find just how much
needs to be underground. One nice thing... when it rains, peeps tend
to ignore their preferred intensity as long as it gets them out of
the rain!

Your second option is to cheat outrageously.... Grab a trainer
or save game modifier that allows you to bury rides ^_^;. Then you
dig the hole, place the ride in it, and then cover it back up.
You'll be perfecting your underground abilities in this one, either
way.

With all that underground area, you're going to have one heck of a
time setting patrol areas for Mechanics and handymen. My advice
is to not bother with routes inside the pyramid. Place your coaster
stations outside the pyramid proper where you can properly assign
your mechanics and hire a few floaters to cover any rides you place
totally inside it.

Other than the underground challenges, this is pretty straight
forward... build your park, and they will come. Good Luck.

don't forget to include the dark ride, go-karts, the little guided cars,
well, anything that runs on a track...
