Ordered my Voodoo3 2000 PCI yesterday from www.ebworld.com. Price was a little
high but I wanted it quick ($129 + $12 overnight delivery + $9 tax). It showed
up at my office today so I ran home for and early/long lunch and got to work!
I have a Compaq 4850 (PII300) so I have to deal with that on board AGP ATI
Rage Pro crap. But after a few reboots all seems well.
I'm hoping other with a similar system (See specs below) will post some
Timedeom results also.
Using 3fingers best perfomrance Autoexec.cfg (w/ V-Sync OFF):
800x600x16
Timedemo1 60.5 FPS
Crusher 25.5
Massive 43.5
Frankly, I was a little disappointed since my Monster 3d II Voodoo2 used to
get the following:
800x600x16
Timedemo1 52.5 FPS
Crusher 14.5 (nice improvement here)
Massive 30.3 FPS
When I see a Celeron 300a on Sharky's Extreme web site
(www.sharkyextreme.com) getting around 70 FPS in his benchamrks, I'm
wondering whats up? I'm using the 3dfx Mini-GL (1.47) and the Voodoo3
Drivers. I also ran the 3D Mark 99 benchmark and it shows clear improvments
(I think I got around 2500 3D Marks vs 1800, didnt write it down though). Any
help or suggestions would be welcome.
System Specs:
Compaq 4850
Pentium II 300
192MB Ram
6.4gb HDD
Voodoo3 2000 PCI (replaced ATI Rage Pro + Monster Voodoo2)
Sony 200ES 17" Monitor
Cable Modem (hehe)
Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions.
