Help: Installing Quake2 (ATTN: Morgan V:)

Check your ...\quake2\baseq2\pak0.pak file. Sometimes the install does not
copy it all. It should be 175MB (183,997,730 bytes) in the properties. Just
get a clean copy from your quake2 CD - you dont have to do a new install.

Morgan V.: The above paragraph needs adding to the FAQ missing colormap
section.

This usually happens when you try to start Q2 from a directory other than
Q2's base directory, "\games\quake2". Start up a DOS prompt (click Start,
Run..., and type "command" and hit Enter) and type: "cd \games\quake2" and
"quake2 +set whatever parameters you want"
