Hello all,

Anyone still here ? :)

I'm currently revisiting 'Ocarina Of Time' on the GameCube. It's been a
while since I've completed it, many years in fact but it is just as
enjoyable and memorable to play as it was the first time all those moons
ago.

I made the mistake of thinking that since I am that much older now than when
I first played this game, it would be easier this time and puzzles I
struggled with initially would be more easily overcome. Erm, no. It's just
as challenging and if anything I'm worse at it now.

Currently I'm just starting the 'Shadow Temple'. The 'Water Temple' was the
one I remember giving me the most frustration and it certainly had that in
abundance this time too, mainly due to my terrible sense of direction.

Oh and 'Dark Link'. I'd forgotten about how hard he is to beat. This time I
had the Big Goron's sword (which expectedly broke after a couple of swings)
but had the advantage of not allowing 'Dark Link' to jump onto it after yet
another failed strike. :)

I also have Zelda - OOT on original Nintendo 64 cartridge, which I intend to
fire up soon to see if it's still saved my scores. How long do the batteries
last in cartridges ? I seem to recall firing it up just to get some power
into it about a year ago. Would this 'prop up' the battery in any way ?

If anyone is thinking of starting Ocarina Of Time again I would definitely
recommend you do it, and book a week off to get started :)

Happy gaming.

Regards,

Nrth.
