Yesterday, she had been complaining that her chest hurt. I saw her sitting
on her bed this morning, she said she wasn't feeling well, but didn't want
to see a doctor. The caregiver we had hired was serving her breakfast in
bed not fifteen minutes later when she told me to call 911. When the
paramedics arrived, there was no pulse, no breathing. They did everything
they could, as cliche as it sounds.

I had been living with her for the past year or so, my brother a little
longer. My Mom and Dad, their respective paramours, and my uncle came over
and stayed a while to ease the pain a little. There was a reverse mortage
on the house, and it'll be a year until the bank forecloses on it. I don't
know what we'll do about that.

I thought I'd let you all know. Don't know what good it'll do, but I might
as well share the greif with everyone I know.

My condolences for your grandmother's passing. It sounds as if she
passed comfortably, and I hope that she had a good, long, fulfilling
life.

That doesn't strike me as the appropriate response...

Thank you. I suppose it was her time, and at least she didn't suffer. I
just wish she stayed with us just a while longer...

... 'Cause now I have to move out of her house. >_< Okay, that's not the
only reason, but the house was in her name and I don't know if we can buy
it. My aunt's real attached to it, so she might try something, but either
way I should try and get my act together and try to have something
resembling a normal life. I can't slum around relatives' houses forever.

From what I can gather you have a certain period of grace,a year I believe,
during which you can refinance the loan by securing a standard mortgauge.
Of course this depends on the amount remaining and your ability to secure a
new loan, perhaps somebody would be willing to stand as guarantor? Have you
been able to arrange a meeting with the bank? with the current economic
situation they may be slightly more sympathetic to your situation, going in
with a roughly outlined plan agreed with amongst your family members is
always a plus.Of course all this is rather speculative I'm afraid and
dependent on any devise/bequests left in a will.
I'm very sorry for your loss and hope that you manage to sort things out,
if you ever feel the need for a chat just let me know.
