I'm going to stop bickering. First of all, it makes me sound like a troll.
And Second of all, it isn't a good thing if you ever want to make friends.
So I'm going to start actually /contributing/. Adding trainer tips and what
not. Why just brag about being a good trainer, when I'm not doing anything
with the knowledge, right? So, I'm starting series #1.
Okay. I just want to suggest a team. First of all, most should know to
spread out their forces evenly. For an attacking team, you want qualities
such as Speed, Attack, and Special, the majurity of the 'chart' And for a
defensive team, Hit points and Defense are the ultimate qualities you want
in a pokemon.
For those of you with attacking teams, might I suggest Jolteon as an
electric type? Let him learn moves such as pin missle, double kick,
thunderbolt, and one other move of your choice. I chose Agility.
Ultimate strong pokemon to use for water? This one sort of works for both
teams: Dragonite, or any of the dragon evolutions! Teach the pokemon Surf,
as well as a few other elemental moves of your choice. I never found a need
for ghost pokemon, because I don't enjoy training them. Psychic Type. Mew,
for those of you who have her, is the ultimate in psychic, right alongside
Mewtwo. After that you may want to try the Abra evolution chain.
For your ice type, I suggest Articuno. Now, using articuno means you will
have to be aware of its weaknss. Because it is both Ice /AND/ Flying, it
will be very vulnerable, however is fast, accurate, and very strong. Only
experienced trainers should handle an articuno in their team. Now for the
Fire. I don't suggest Charizard, as you've already got one weak to any
flying vulnerable attacks. Perhaps Arcanine? He has the strongest Attack
measure of all fire pokemon. However, don't evolve him too soon! Keep him as
a growlthe until he learns his important fire moves! Vital for a good Fire
pokemon!
For your last pokemon I suggest something of either the grass or rock type,
that is invulnerable to electricity. Rock and ground type aren't even
affected by the electricity! My suggestions are Onix, Dugtrio, Sandslash, or
Venusaur. If you are an ambitious trainer, go with Victreebell or Vileplume.
That's my input for today!

In AGNP where pokemon play, Rebecca Cherish told us one day:

| electric type? Let him learn moves such as pin missle, double kick,

Personally, i think thundershock is a better choice than agility.
Jolteon already has all the speed he could ever need, using agility is
just a waste of a turn. Instead, it's a good idea to make use of its
good special and same type with thundershock. It's almost as deadly
as thunderbolt and has twice the PP which is good for drawn-out
battles.
Of course, many people think Jolteon is a cheap addition to a team and
other electric pokemon like Electabuzz and Raichu aren't really too
bad either.
| Ultimate strong pokemon to use for water? This one sort of works for both

Um, i've never needed a dragon on my team. For water pokemon,
Gyarados is a good choice since it has such high special and attack.
Even water gun is deadly. Otherwise Cloyster, Dewgong, or some other
water/ice pokemon is a good idea since it can take advantage of its
type with both water and ice. It also helps against plants, dragons,
and birds.
| I never found a need
| for ghost pokemon, because I don't enjoy training them. Psychic Type. Mew,

Ugh. No mention of Hypno? I think Hypno is one of the best psychics
after that horribly cheap Mewtwo. After all, it has pretty high
defense and HP which lets it survive for a long time. Its attack and
special aren't as high but they're balanced which allows it to defeat
other psychics like Alakazam quite easily. The sleep move is an added
bonus. For Hypno a good set of moves would be body slam (or
headbutt), psychic, hypnosis, and dream eater.

It's strange that you should suggest only experienced trainers to have
Articuno b/c it's common that only _inexperienced_ trainers have
them. After all, by the time you have a few good teams, you've
realized that pokemon are stronger raised from lower levels and also
that Articuno is CHEAP. It's better, IMHO, to have a "pure" bird
(meaning normal/flying) and an ice/water.
| Now for the
| Fire. I don't suggest Charizard, as you've already got one weak to any
| flying vulnerable attacks. Perhaps Arcanine? He has the strongest Attack

I've never found a use for fire pokemon as all its strengths are
covered by others. It's strong against grass but i've got a bird to
take care of that. It's good against ice, but most of those are half
water anyway and those that aren't have other weaknesses.

Rock types aren't very useful, but Sandlash is a great choice if
you're seeking a final addition to your team.
My lineup is usually something like:
Flying -- Fearow or Pidgeot
Electric -- Jolteon (or sometimes Raichu)
Water (maybe part Ice) -- Gyarados or Dewgong
Grass -- Vileplume or Venusaur
Psychic -- Hypno
Earth or Normal -- Sandslash or Clefable

That was refreshing after ignoring so many threads.
I've had trouble getting a bird up to useful levels
because there is so little to fight that birds are
good at. I've had my Farfetch'd picking on the
Tentacool, but it's a long drawn-out struggle to
get him some levels. What do you use to get your
bird some levels?
> Rock types aren't very useful, but Sandlash is a great choice if

My Dugtrio with Dig and Earthquake has been a great
boon to my team. His attacks have beaten poison types
(including ghosts, which are also poison) and even
many psychics, normals and fighters, in one hit without
taking any damage himself.

IMHO, I don't get the fascination with Mew and Mewtwo.
Once you defeat the Elite Four and Gary, what else is
there to do besides catch Mewtwo and then start over.
Maybe I'm missing the point of the game.

Rebecca Cherish is a troll? Sorry . . . didn't know.

We did. But i judge by posts and that post itself was not a troll.
Whether the person is or not, i don't know. I think she said she was

I missed the original post, thankfully. Maybe Goddish News is getting
back to troll filtering.
