[PW!][NS] What could have been...

Well, as of February 22, 2024, Google Groups will no longer be supporting Usenet. I fear this will likely be the final nail in the coffin for the group, if not for the PokéWars. So, why not talk about what could have been?
I had plans in regards to Alex. Some were more concrete than others. One firm plan that I had for her from the beginning was that she'd have three Pokémon from each region. She was already well on her way by the time I left off, as between PW! and PW!R, she'd ended up with at least one Pokémon from each of the first five generations, and she'd filled the quota for Johto and Hoenn.
Other firm plans were in regards to her storylines. Between PW! and PW!R, I'd pretty much finished up her plans for Hoenn. I was gearing up to start on the storyline I had planned for her in Johto, which would have tied up everything related to ShadowWarrior and Team Rocket, but alas, circumstances decided to act against me. Life - what can you do?
Alex would've eventually reached Kanto. My thought was that she'd have become a mentor to another trainer on their journey, and guided and taught them along the way. I even had idle plans for her to meet and battle Ash Ketchum. My plans for Sinnoh were a little more elaborate, as they would've involved an elaborate story arc involving a resurgent Team Galactic, Arceus, and some absolutely crazy stuff.
I didn't have firm plans for story arcs in Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, Hisui or Paldea, mostly because most of those regions hadn't been introduced back then. That said, Alex was gradually going to visit each new region - I already had time travel, so Hisui wouldn't be a stretch - and I doubt that Alex would've enrolled in any of the schools introduced in Gen IX. She would've gotten at least one starter for each region - I was really eager to have her be joined by an explosion-happy Piplup, a Snivy whose personality was modeled after a certain vertically-challenged alchemist, and a Popplio modeled after a taco-loving Siren. It would've been fun to write.
Maybe I'll get back to it someday. We'll see.
