XD - Obtaining Johto Starters

According to the player's guide, if you complete all 100 battles on
Mt. Battle, you'll win the chance to get one of the three starters
from Johto.

Now, I've done exactly this. Several times. However, I have yet to get
said chance. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a catch to it?

Nevermind, figured it out on my own - you have to go through the whole
thing in one streak without swapping out your team.
Already gotten myself a Cyndaquil, going to train it and try for
Totodile the next time 'round.
