Today, we have a new episode of Pokemon. Before I begin, I like to say
something: remember a few weeks back when I tried to post a link to one of the
highlights of Otakon (which features Pokemon and CCS), only to find out that it
was taken offline? Well, I was able to find another link to it, and hopefully
it will work this time. The link is:

http://simperson.rh.rit.edu/Files/ATChang-happyboysngirls.mpg

Again, this should be only for people who have either high Internet speeds, the
GetRight program (allows you to pause downloads and split the download to three
sections), or a lot of time.

Now for my comments:

Looks like it's bye bye for Vulpix (which I think it is in the Japanese
version). However, since this KWB we're dealing with, I have a strange feeling
that there's probably going to be an "out of order" episode with Vulpix in it.

The first thing that I thought of when TR plans to enter the beauty contest:
The return of Salon Rocket.

Interesting storyline involving Brock, Susie, and Zane, and the jealousy that
Brock has over Zane. By the end of the episode, you know that in the end, it's
going to be Zane who will get Susie romantically. Besides, with Brock, you know
that there's going to be some other girl to attract him.

Okay, who thinks that beauty wise, Vulpix was the best of the contestants,
since most of them used makeup or styling, while Vulpix is just her cute little
self.

Freaky image of the night: Wobbuffet with a toupee.

No, I'm pretty sure WB has filled in all the gaps. No out of orders, at
least not yet.

Not sure what you're asking... the episode title is "Sayonara Rokon!" which does
translate to "Bye Vulpix" but they do have different names.

Woo, the Sonans village episode will be on soon. And I won't get to see it.

What bothers me is that the opening credits sequence for Johto League
Champions shows Brock with Vulpix ... not with Geodude, or Golbat, or
Onix, but Vulpix. A Pokémon he has for only the first handful of JLC
episodes.

Whatever ...

While we're at it, there's that line in the lyrics, "My whole life has

Someone else already pointed out that it's unlikely at this point, but the other
part of the scheduling of this wasn't so hot.

They chose this weekend to stop airing 2 new episodes per weekend, just when they
get to a 2-parter.

Enough of the pokemon looked like they had been to it, what with the awful make-up
jobs.

Wasn't really looking at it, but Ninetails seemed to match it as far as looking
good.

There were a couple of the other pokemon that looked pretty damn good too, though.
The images of the pierced Gengar and punk Dugtrio were great. The rest was looking
pretty bad.

I didn't know they made the Shatner Turbo 2000 for pokemon. ;) (I wonder how many
people will remember where that one comes from)

Yeah, he did look good in the aristocratic-anime-villain look. Jessie would've
looked good too if she had something on her face instead of that mask. Of course,
she looks good most of the time in her usual outfit.

From the actor who played Kirk? (Though I never did look for a toupe on him.)

His whole life *thus far*, mind. And it's not as meaningful as they'd like:
it boils down to the fact that what has come before, has come before. The past
is past. More importantly, different events could have produced the current
situation, or those same events could have produced something different.

Really? That's weird. Robots in books by Isaac Asimov (and androids in the
anime Big O) tend to have the initial "R." at the beginning of their names,
like R. Dorothy Wainright or R. Instro (both from Big O).

I think the joke payed for itself.

I'm impressed, I didn't think anybody would be getting that one, like
most of the extremely oblique references I make.

Now I'm wondering if anybody is putting out the episodes on tape or DVD,
they did it for Cheers (and Night Court was better over much more of its
run than Cheers).

I wasn't aware of YOUR Issac Asimov reference, so I had my own interpretation
regarding why you asked her if she was a robot. In the post you were replying to
when you asked her the question, she wrote: "While we're at it, there's that

line in the lyrics, 'My whole life has led to this.' More like the first fifth

of his life has led to this .." I thought you were commenting on how she was
looking at the song in a way that a robot simulating human humor would, which
amused me anyhow.

Coming up next in Rob's Zany Misinterpretations Game: trying to figure out
what's witty about Adrian's cryptic reponse. I think it's funny because it's an
obvious conclusion, though I may be missing a reference so obscure that Adrian's
the only one alive who knows what he's alluding to.

Ne, don't read too much into it. It wasn't my best shot, and I was
going for the obvious. ^_^

Though, if you really want to stretch things...technically, you're
right on the second part. But you'd have to have lived my life, or one
very similar, to know exactly what I mean there. Something that
obscure, I don't put much merit in when communicating to others...but
it is, technically, there. Though, if you really want a hint: things
are always happening...things are always to come...and some things have
already happened. Until the present becomes the past, each moment only
has a certain chance of being significant in history...and that chance
has been creeping higher, albeit very slowly, for me of late.

Wow. That's REALLY weird.

So maybe the it wasn't so much weird as it was curious. Her name was
written in a manner similar to mine and I was wondering if it was a similar
reason. Granted, it's also written in a manner similar to H. Ross Perot,
but if I didn't know of the Asimov thing it wouldn't have come to mind.
