[POLL] The Neo PW!

another continuity under the name of the NeoPW! b/c it causes confusion
with the legitimate PW!. Suggestions for what do to range from renaming
it without the words "PW!" in it to taking it off the newsgroup entirely
and to email. S Silver refuses to change anything at all b/c he claims
to have supporters.
I don't have any power under the PW!, but i think before any decision is
made, this issue should be discussed more fully. Right now, the only
people who have really expressed their opinions are Dreadite, Regulus,
MTSowbug, S Silver, BanditFox, and me. I think the remaining majority
of PW! authors, as well as other newsgroup regulars, should come out and
say what they think of another storyline like the PW! minus some
omnipotence limiting rules.
As i see it, S Silver's stated reason for creating a new continuity is
that the continuity of the PW! has become too established for newbies to
follow.
[My opinion] I believe that the NeoPW! _began_ with a storyline too
established for any newbie to understand. Even _i_ find it hard to
believe that in the future there could be a scarcity in Pokemon b/c they
died from so many captures and battles. A future where money is
everything and Pokemon are rare. At least in the PW! we're basing it on
the show with some limitations from the game so fans can use that as a
basis. Also, there is an archive for the PW! which allows newbies to
read posts all the way from the very beginning through to now which
should give them quite a good dose of the PW!. In addition, it's
recommended that they lurk for a few days to get a taste of the PW!
environment anyhow.
[My suggestions] I don't know what would be the best solution for the
NeoPW as i'm not sure what S Silver is trying to accomplish by creating
it. I realize he intended it to help newbies, but that plainly is not a
good solution so it becomes whether he wants to continue it or not. If
he wants to continue, i think the best way would be to take it to email
or a mailing list like on eGroups (http://www.egroups.com/) or
elsewhere. That way only the people interested will be affected as it
seems to annoy quite a few people. It might also add to confusion among
PW! newbies. If S Silver insists on keeping it in the newsgroup, i
think he should at least remove PW! from the title for the benefit of
people in both storylines.
Well, that was just my bit. I think it'll be good for the PW! people as
well as S Silver to see how everyone else feels about the idea so we can
try to come to a solution everyone is satisfied with.

get confused. Nothing has happened in the PW! time line that might confuse
people who are joining just now. All the cities are in tact, and for the
most part, all the Gym Leaders are in their correct locations for people who
want to challenge them. The truth is that the Neo PW is much more confusing
than the actual PW, since the actual PW is based on the show and the game,
with some simple rules to prevent havok. The Neo PW, however, is based on a
very intricate storyline and I think its purpose is not to help out new
people, but instead it is a copy of the existing PW where the participants
can do whatever they want.
If the maker writes up his own FAQ and changes the name to [Pokemon Future]
or [PF] (or something equivalent to that), I don't have anything against it.
It is not, however, in any way associated with the existing PokeWars, so the
PW should be removed from the name to avoid confusion.

That's what the archive is for. =p And we currently have many newbies in the
Pokewars that are doing EXTREMELY well without needing to know everything
that's ever happened in the past.

The NeoPW don't bother me, but then again, I don't read them. It
seemed like an OK idea when I first heard about it, but Regulus is
going off his rocker and people seem to be complaining en masse.

Get the NeoPW out of the newsgroup. E-mail is okay. Just get it off AGNP.
NPW = PokeWars without rules or fun. Somebody just made it up to fit a
storyline they had in mind. Stupid, stupid...
If S. Silver won't make the NPW go away, then at least get rid of the words
PokeWars in it. It is an insult to the real PokeWars, and it causes confusion.

Let me put it this way: I have a;ready KF'd it. You're lucky you worded
the subject right or I wouldn't even had read it. More than likely, this
was the plan: Cause people to KF the thing, claim it has supporters, and
the supporters respond because those who object don't even know what's
going on behind their backs.
That being said, we have no right to kick them off the NG for this. If
we do, we will have to take the PokeWars off too. I seriously recommend
they not associate with the PW! at all, especially since they don't
follow the same rules. (Mewchu, I could have crapped myself when I read
that. THat was why I KF'd it.)

without my permission,I was furious,Look all:Me and Mew...@webtv.net
created mewchu for the heck of it.Mew151 made up the name and I came up
with the concept of Mewchu as a cross breed of a mew and a
pikachu.Someone else who was in the room at the time posted the idea on
his Yahoo club board.then.mewchu got so popular,he was mentioned in not
only the Neo PW! but also the PokeLand Pokemon fanclub newsletter and
the Pokemon Picture Archive.So,I say down with the Neo PW!.
