Actually the problem was caused by basically one person but since he seems to
have slithered off to stir shit else ware this group has once again become a
cool place to share and discuss hentai and whatever else comes up. Notice how
the NG is no longer fucked up since that agitator stopped posting?

I guess I spoke too soon. Here we go again. And such a polite and respectful
reply which adds so much to the group.
Okay, I think I've said enough. Wouldn't want to get involved in another flame
war, but since his post was quoted by someone who I haven't kill filed, I had
to be inflicted with his vitriol, so I responded. I'm going to go back to
trying to ignore him even when others quote him.

You said no such thing when lamers were trying to destroy productive
threads created by people just because they agreed with me. Therefor I
do not really believe that hold the belief that what I did was bad.
Therefor I consider you a hypocrite who professes to believe what he
does not.

On the subject of productiveness, when was the last time you posted on a topic
which wasn't binaries related? I'm looking, but not finding anything.

The Musketeer writes:

There should never be the ability to ban a person from a newsgroup for
expressing their opinion. In Bateau's case especially. He can provide a
valuable lesson in tolerance and humor. So long as a persons posts do not
violate applicable law or represent a credible threat to anyone's safety we
ought to realize that if we start "banning" people we are inviting oppression
to take a foot hold. That's only a few steps from being banned ourselves for
some perceived offense. Consider list serves and the "#" chats. People there
are banned if they annoy or offend the few with power to control the
discussion. By learning to tolerate the opinions of others, no matter how
annoying, we learn to be better members of real society. Besides, there are
others who share Bateau's vision. These others include respected and long time
members of the NG. When you come right down to it they are right. So in
reality, other than Bateau, they are the ones who have been tolerant and if it
were posable to ban people we would be in danger of such, as Saber has pointed
out. It was because of those long time and/or respected members that I stopped
smacking Bateau and will endeavor to stand by my promise to abstain from
playing with him, despite the enjoyment I got from it.
The other lesson is humor. We need to learn to not take ourselves so
seriously. The net is a good place to learn and practice social skills for use
in real life. What ever happens in this NG it will have no real effect in most
of our real lives. So the blunders and failures we experience here can really
be swept away with the push of a few buttons. Here we can learn what is really
important. And whether pictures can be posted to this NG or not is just not
that important. I prefer to be able to post and view pictures here. Right now
this practice is posable and, in my view, has no significant impact on others.
If this changes I would be disappointed but certainly not devastated. I like
many of the people on this NG and I enjoy their art. If binaries are prevented
here then I will still have contact with the people I like and though access
will be diminished it will still be posable to see the art somehow I'm sure. So
even in the worst case scenario my real life will not be significantly harmed
either way. In the mean time I can also enjoy watching someone who doesn't
have a clue about what is important in real life make a fool of their self. I
can enjoy watching those who feel a sense of inflated self importance and
desire to control (not just here, so I'm not pointing to anyone specific) as
they try to convince others that they are important or knowledgeable or
powerful. There is a certain humor to be enjoyed in watching this even if I
can't play with them. So I suggest that those who are seriously bothered by
the posts here should try to take a step back and learn some perspective and
learn to laugh at silliness even when it turns out to be their own silliness.
Hell I'd go nuts if I couldn't laugh at the silliness I have expressed here and
on other newsgroups or list serves. Then again I am nuts so maybe I learned
too late.

You implied that banning should be a feature to newsgroups.... If that were
a possibility(and it isn't) think of the ramifications! People could boot
you out just for having wrote your message... people would be having Ban
Wars, people that once contributed , would fear that their next post could
be their last! The Binary posters would probably be the first to go,
followed by the (OT) posters, then after them, the REGs....eventually this
whole NG would be doomed to non existence.. and this wouldn't just mean this
NG but the whole UseNet structure would collapse and fail, causing utter
chaos and rioting within the NG streets!!!....getting back to the Question
though..... you posed an irrational question, and then when it was answered
you didn't bother reading it....then you asked a pointless question....
which brings us back here...

Convincing morons not to post binaries to non binary groups is
productive to all news groups.

Nothing wrong that I can see. You asked a question and it was answered. I
understand the frustration and annoyance behind the question/inferance, but
concentrated on the actual question and why we would not want to even entertain
the idea of banning people from NGs. I didn't intend for my post to come
across as a rebuke, only an edifying admonition. You certainly have the same
ability as any other to post your opinions here. It's not like you can be
banned or anythging. :^)

Sometimes I speak like that too. I've felt like passing out for lack of oxygen
and finally have to pause when my lungs empty of air. I guess I am just so
taken by my own thoughts that I am afraid I may loose a thought if I break for
a paragraph or a breath. Then others would be denied the blessing of receiving
my words of wit and wisdom. And believe me I really am full of wit. :^)

I'll try to keep proper structure and breaks in thought in mind in the future.
I have to admit that I have grown tired of measuring my words and checking for
structure and rhythm from the years of striving to ensure zero mistakes in
academic, business and legal documents. I've grown sloppy. I am almost
obsessed with spelling because I am so poor at it but when it comes to
paragraph structure I just don't pay as much attention to it as it deserves.
Sorry about the run on.
