What I'm asking is can anyone confirm this is a bug? From what I've read,
the door is supposed to be open or openable and we should be able to get
inside. I haven't seen anything that says we have to pick the front door or
find a key for it. Was this supposed to get opened when we met that women
(Leldon's missus) outside the Flagon? If so, is there any way to get it
open or do I need to try and trigger it again? Or did I do something wrong?
Any help and advice most gratefully accepted. I'm enjoying the OC. I just
got a new computer which means I can play it at last. It's much better than
the OC of NWN.

Yes, Neeshka was with me when I first exited the Sunken Flagon and we had
the conversation. Damn it. Maybe I have to meet the wife without Neeshka
first? Thanks for confirming it's doing it wrong - whatever it is it's
doing. At least if I know what's SUPPOSED to happen, I can try and make it
happen (if that makes sense).

Well, you never know. But it's next to the Bryce tomb, yes?

I hope you didn't read that as dismissive - it certainly wasn't meant to be.
All suggestions gratefully received as I said in the original post. I'll
have a look round and see if there's any other possible places we can try.
It does seem to me though that the 'unlock' hasn't triggered in which case
I'll have to go backwards with saves (which probably means the end of
chapter 1) and try and get it to trigger properly or trying a cheat of some
kind. If so, I'll have to find out how to do it.

Have you tried trying to open the door with your main character? If one
character has the key in their inventory then only they can open the door.
If you spoke to Leldon's missus with your main character, wouldn't they get
the key?
I'm still playing for the first time through the OC (slowly as i'm very
involved in WoW).

Maybe but she also tried the door - everyone did - and it does seem that the
door has to be picklocked.

Yes, it does say that. It doesn't say the lockpick failed or that she
doesn't have the requisite skill to do it. Maybe I could try with a
lockpick kit.

She has the highest lock pick skill she can have for the level we are at.
It's early in act 2 and we're about level 12, I think.

Well, d'uh - you were right, I was trying the wrong house. I was trying
the house NEXT DOOR, dammit. Well, that house says it needs a special key
to open so perhaps we get to come back later and burgle that one too. I
hope so. Anyway, I am off now to thieve every last copper piece I can find
in the Collector's place. Having read various forum posts on the area, to
make up for being thoroughly spoilered, I am going to try what one poster
tried which was go through the place with just Neeshka in tow. The idea
being to sneak through the entire place and not fight anyone - except
wassissname at the end. My character is a ranger and, therefore, a pretty
good sneaker herself. I might take Bishop along to help beat the crap out
of anyone who does see us, accidentally like. I'll keep him on a tight
leash. NOT the sort of mission on which to drag along the paladin. Oh,
wait - I have to have that bloody woman along too. Damn. This is not
working out as planned. If I hadn't got confused about which door to try
we'd be a lot richer by now and poking round in Ember.
Thank you for the shove in the right direction.
