Hi All,

My game is currently patched to 1.68. I am running CEP v2.0. when I try to
start Prophet I get an error message that says Required HAK Missing. Any
Idea what the problem may be?

Hi Mox,

Sorry to hear you're having a problem. (I also have CEP 2.0 with NWN 1.68
and I never saw that error.)

Have you downloaded & installed the "Prologue" mod first? I think that's the
problem, as it contains two files: Prophet0.hak and Prophet1.hak that you
definitely need!

Hope this helps!

Yes I installed Prolog and Chapter 1. Both HAK packs, music, and CEP tlk
file. Maybe something got corrupted on the download.

Thanks for the reply

Check the logfile for the missing HAK. I think the default location
is:
C:\neverwinter nights\nwn\logfiles

Should list the missing HAKs.

What's weird is, a module I played recently (Blackwall Keep, IIRC)
wanted CEPpatch1.53.HAK and I only had CEPpatch1.52

Not wanting to download the HAK at home (dialup), I made a copy of the
1.52 hak file, renamed to 1.53 and it worked fine. The sequel to the
mod wanted 1.67 (I think) as well as 1.52 and 1.53, and making another
copy of the hack and rename it to 1.67 worked fine as well. YMMV

OK guys I'm a little lost.

I checked the error log file. It reports that the following HAK files are
missing.

[Sun Feb 03 12:30:41] Loading Module: Prophet - Prologue - It cannot be
denied
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "ceptexture.hak"
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "cepportrait.hak"
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "cepplace.hak"
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "cepcreature.hak"
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "cepbaseitem.hak"
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "cepanatomy.hak"
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "cep2da.hak"
Couldn't load the Hak Pak File "cep1patch.hak"
Could not load the Module.
Missing required HAK file.

I have re-downloaded both the CEP v2.0 as an .exe file and as a full .RAR
file and neither file contains the missing HAK files. Something is odd here.

If the mod was made using earlier versions of the CEP then it may not
have been updated to allow for the latest versions... you can get
earlier versions from the NW Vault I believe.

Not sure why those files are missing, but I just checked and they're still
in my hak folder!
Want me to email them to you?

Thanks to NT, DR, and LOC. You all helped me figure this out. I downloaded a
CEP v152 manual install. When I unpacked it I found all of my missing files
there. I guess for v2.0 to be backward compatible, you must have some
earlier version already installed. Prophet loads fine with these older files
in place.

Thanks again

Yay, that's great news!
Enjoy the game!
