***** SPOILER REQUEST *****

I found:

Two legs
One head
one torso
one hand

I've killed the Maker and want to use the Golem machine.

However, I see two challenges:

1) Do I have all of the req'd pieces? Seems to me, that I'm missing a
hand. I can't find it anywhere. Is it req'd?

2) How do I fit all of the pieces on the machine? I can squeeze in
the control amulet, a head, a torso, a leg, and a hand. That's it. I
can't squeeze in the other leg that I do have or the missing hand that
I don't.

3) Once I put whatever pieces on there that I need, do I cast spells
on the four spell conduits? I tried casting Time Sink, by scroll, and
I couldn't select a spell conduit. I tried casting Greater Spell
Breach, which I learned, but I couldn't select a spell conduit. What
am I doing wrong?

Many thanks,
Curtis

The golem pieces are something I don't remember at all, perhaps someone
else might shed some light on them. Perhaps they're class-specific. The
golem machine itself is used to destroy the scavenger golem that brings
the golems you've destroyed back to life. There are a couple buttons on
the machine you push to do so. The scavenger golem keeps saying
something like "Sinth Thesti" and somewhere theres a book htat
translates the words into 54, if I recall correctly, so push the first
button on the machine 5 times and the second button 4 times to destroy
it.

Apologies. Wrong golem machine.

I need help with the Golem Construction Machine that you get access to
after you kill The Maker.

Yes.

:-p

I don't know where it is, I'm afraid. I've never played an arcane
caster there, so the parts never showed up for me at all.

I believe you're supposed to click on a spell conduit and then you'll be
offered a choice of spells to use on it. Casting the spell first
(instead of clicking) doesn't do anything.

Yes, I think you need all the bits and you are missing a hand. Sorry I
can't remember where they were but they were all in the dungeon above.

Just keep dropping them on the table - the machine will generate an extra
page of capacity automatically (look at the top of the bit where you're
putting the stuff it should say 1/1 (i.e. page 1 of 1). It's like a chest
or barrel - you can have more than one page of space. If you drop extra
stuff in there, you'll get 1/2 or 2/2. Does that make much sense?

Yes you do but you select the conduit first and you should be able to cast
from scrolls - I seem to remember I found four suitable scrolls in the
dungeon too - search all the bookcases. Once you've selected the conduit,
you will be given the option to cast any suitable spells you have - scroll
or memorised.

I seem to remember having the golem was kinda nice but

MORE SPOILERS (don't read any further unless you want information about
things you may not have done yet).

Depending on where in the campaign you got him, you generally don't get to
keep him too long. If you went to the Isle of the Maker first after you got
to the Underdark, you can have him throughout the rest of your time there
but if you're there last after clearing out the Tentacle-Heads, the Floating
Eyeballs and the goddam undead ***** (I won't spoil it for you if you
haven't already met this lovely creature) from the village of the damned
outside the rebel camp, plus the other village of the damned on the other
Island, you only get to use him for the final battle at Lith Myathar - you
don't get to keep him for chapter 3. If you get to keep him for a bit,
remember he will heal if you rest and you can cast heal spells on him if he
gets damaged. Also, don't forget to keep casting the spells for his storage
slots before you rest (you won't know what this is yet, but try talking to
him once you've made him).

No, that's on the first level. He's talking about the machine that
lets you create a golem that's on the third level.

Yes, you need the other hand.

They fit fine. Don't worry that they don't look like they will. It's
a multi-page container.

You select the conduit and then select what spell to cast into it.
It's backwards from what you expect.

Thanks all for the help. I got it.

Now my problem is how to unsummon the golem so I can take on Scrivener
as sidekick for his quest.

Interesting headache.

I think you could get around this by dropping all your other henchmen.
There's no problem with this, the scrivener doesn't want to go
anyplace dangerous.
