Don't pick a fight with an old man.
If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you.
assuming you're just playing together (non-DMed), start the game and
select multiplayer, load the module. then the other players load NWN,
select multiplayer but "join" instead of loading a module, then try
and find your computer as the server and join.
IIRC, it's easier if you disconnect your LAN from the Internet and
disable all firewalls. haven't done this in a while, so I may be
forgetting stuff, but it's actually pretty easy to do.
If you have specific questions, post up... I don't know what elsse to
add without knowiing if you have specific questions or issues.
These RPG's don't come anywhere's close to rollin' dice, but we all have to
get old sometime.

I hear ya, buddy. One of our core players got married last year and
moved to Australia. Others have moved out to the east coast, SW, etc.
:(
Well, I'm happy for him, but that kinda kills the in-person gaming.
I've only done multiplier on a local network, behind the firewall, and
haven't done an internet game.
:(
We're all still reasonably close to one another, but the younger ones now
have mortgages, home repairs, kids, and nasty wives who don't understand
what this was all about. I've never played an online game and I refuse to
pay to play. Hell, I'll teach the neighborhood kids how to roll dice before
I pay to play The Prince of Darkness. There's a comic book store called
Showcase, here on the east coast, that hosts games. Mostly Warhammer and
card games. The kids I watched playing have no clue about role playing.
They're all hack n' slash. Boy do I miss that first module with the wooden
dice that you had to paint the dots on, but as usual, I digress. :-)
But young players are always about hack 'n' slash - that's what they do.
For most people, it's only as you get older that that gets old. Still I
know what you mean about organising games when you get older.
Best wishes

I used to love letting young ones roll up a game. All fighters. In my own
subtle way I taught them the concept of needing a cleric in the group. We
all like to hack n' slash at some point in the game, usually as a finale to
the evening.
This has gone way beyond annoying. When one of my friends brings his laptop
here he has no problem connecting to the server I'm running. When he goes
home he can't connect. I have my game posted to the internet so he should
see it. Like I said, when he was here he had no problem. Maybe because he
was sharing my wireless? Anyone have any suggestions? I verified my port
5121 is open. I have no other ideas. Does he have to have port 5121 opened
too?
Yes, and there may be other ports that need opening too. Go to
portforward.com for a full set of instructions - they cover hundreds of
different routers and lots of different games.

Thanks.
The problem lies somewhere in his Vista laptop. He has no problem
connecting with his XP desktop.
Thanks, all, for the suggestions.
