It's been a year since any new (non spam) messages showed up :(

So, I finally got around to checking to see whether SoZ has shown up
in the virtual bargain bins. Best price I could find was on eBay, $25
shipped. Buy, or wait? More info below...

I never did finiish playing MotB - got bored with it and found that
playing and replaying NWN1 modules was much more entertaining. I did
download a few NWN2 modules... a few were decent, but I always felt
gyped... for the size of the downloads, the modules were short. Many
of them also did not work quite right. From what I have read about
SoZ, this also sounds like it is not my type of entertainment. I'd be
getting this mostly to complete a set and in hopes that bugs are fixed
and that it will make some of the NWN2 modules playable.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance

I liked a lot of NWN1 modules too, and some of the authors I liked have
done good things for NWN2 too.

I bought SoZ because so many modules required it. I've never actually
played it through, though I've started it more than once.

I liked a lot of NWN2 modules quite a bit--the Conan Chronicles, Misery
Stone, the Tales form the Lake of Sorrows series, the Charnia series,
Asphyxia, Lolthanchwi, the Red Prison, Harp & Chrysanthemum, to mention
only a few, and thought it worth buying SoZ to be able to play them all.

If you're not into the modules, and you didn't finish MotB, I wouldn't
bother buying SoZ for $10, let alone $25.

Mark.

I still haven't finished the original.
My mage got stymied (six months or so ago) somewhere around Luskan when we found that she didn't have a needed spell
(Charm Person or Animal) in order to have a "Command" spell to progress. Couldn't go back to any of the earlier cities
to buy a copy, searched the whole available environment but couldn't find or buy one. Stopped.

Went on to Dragon Age-Origins. Currently paused after killing the four Darkspawn generals - now I need to kill te
Archdemon. I enjoyed the game so much that I haven't wanted it to end so;

I've just last week started NWN again, this time as a fighter.

I'll happily accept recommendations about worthwhile modules to get for either game.

thanks, Mark - I think I did either try a couple of NWN2 modules that
didn't work properly for lack of SoZ, or saw that I needed SoZ and did
not download them (it's been a while since I played). Hmmm, I started
Misery Stone but there were some weird glitches. Maybe fixed in SoZ.

For NWN1, Tomoj? There are many lists of recomended modules (some on
this Usenet group), plus the Hall of Fame and the Overlooked Modules
list on the NWN Vault. A couple that I liked and played recently were
The Prophet (series by Baldecaran) and Sanctum of the Archmage. Last
I read, SotA was going to be finished in Dragon Age

If you tried playing any NWN2 module that said it wanted you to have SoZ when
you did not, it was pretty much guaranteed to get messed up.

If you do get SoZ and try Misery Stone again, look for the gravestone of
TymmeRMortis (I was involved in testing it).
