I have downloaded several modules; Shadowlords, Lone Wolf, Hand of Fate,
which feature NPCs with cool portraits. Is there any way I can get these
and use them for PCs? Or do I have to search out portraits and download
them individually. Every time I have tried to download the IWD2 pack it has
failed.

Thanks

Patrick

First, make sure those portraits are for general community use. Some
of those authors may have custom made (or had made for them) portraits
for their modules alone. Second, just open the .hak files in the
Bioware Hak Editor, located in the /utils directory.

I believe these are personally made portraits, in at least two cases. I
never play online, only single player modules. Are you saying that I need
permission to play with these portraits in my single player games. I could
understand people getting annoyed if I used their portraits online without
asking.

I shall try that. Thanks.

Well, if they're just for your use, I don't think anyone would have a
problem with that. Personally, I prefer taking a "picture" of my
character in-game and using that as a portrait. Then my character and
my character portrait match. :)

I tried this, it worked on some of them, but it seems the game requires 5
sizes h,l,m,s,t and one of the mods didn't include the top two sizes, which
seem to be used on the screen where you pick a portrait , and the character
sheet. On the very sensible grounds that the module would never need these
sizes. Unfortunately I do. Dash these efficient mod makers minimizing the
size of their downloads!

Luckily, said module maker has posted to this group so I'm off to plead with
him!
