Hi,

When creating a character you get to chose how they should look, but the
heads are restricted according to your race. Is there any way to use a head
from another race? (I want to use a human head on an elf, 'cos I don't like
any of the elf heads). Is that possible? And how do I do it?

It doesn't work here. I keep cycling, but I don't get the head I want when
creating an elven female. The head I want is easy to find when creating a
human, but it doesn't show up when creating an elf :(

Well, I just started messing around with NWN, but there is really
neat tool for browsing Infinity engine files at:
http://www.idi.ntnu.no/~joh/ni/

When the tool comes up, it will prompt you for a key file - it's in
your NWN game directory. One of the resource folders on the left side
browser will be TGA... Look for the po_hu_f_* files and export them
to your portraits directory. Make sure you get all of the 'h', 'l',
'm', 's', and 't' versions of the portrait extracted. That should in
theory make them available regardless of the race/gender of your
character, but I haven't actually tried it. You might have to rename
them - I'm not sure. Let me know if it actually works :)

The original poster isn't talking about using a different portrait. He
wants a different in-game head.

No, that's incorrect. You can see it for yourself by starting a character
and cycling through the heads, then changing race and repeating the head
selection. Each race has *different* heads.

Now, there are a few similar types of heads are available for each race.
For example, you can generaly find a head with rather plain hair, and one
with a ponytail, and one that's bald. But even these are still different
for each race, and certainly all the other heads are quite different, too.

Thanks, but as Jon Twernbold said, I'm not looking for another portrait, I'm
looking for aother head to put on the shoulder of the actual character. I
want to put one of the human heads on an elf.
