Is there any point to the brothel at the Moonstone Mask? I mean, after all
the trouble getting the letter that lets you in, and paying for the pass
coin, that was a real let-down. I tried the conversation every way I could
possibly imagine, (by loading a saved game) but couldn't get anything
worthwhile to happen. I tried taking off my armor first, tried making Tomi
Undergallows wait outside, all kinds of stuff. Does it depend on your
race/class/gender/charisma/alignment? The character I was using was a
chaotic good female dwarven fighter, with a very low charisma (7), so that
might have had something to do with it. Nobody seems to like dwarves. Or
is it just a big waste of 200 gold?

(Okay, 186. Tomi got me into the chests in the 2nd floor rooms for a total
of 14 gold. Yippee.)

I successfully initiated a "date" at the brothel with my low-charisma
dwarf. The key is to be sensitive to her needs. :-) That is, select
dialogue options that are conversational, friendly, and not too forward,
and slowly work your way around to that other bit.

If successful, you'll find your character face down and sleeping...

Not sure if there's any point to it if you're playing a female (other than
the 50 xp for going all the way, I think my wife had to pick take me like an
animal or something like that). If you're a male in addition to the 50 xp
you can get an additional quest from one of the ladies (I forget her name,
not Luce but the blonde haired one).

Unrelated but I think that wasting gold in the OC is not really a big
deal. Over time, you get so much and really have nothing good to spend
it on since most of the good armour and weapons are found adventuring. I
just got to the end of chapter 2 with my sorcerer and have 200000 gp.
I've even spent 100000+ on top of that on items that I later sold back
at much lower costs once I found replacements.

Yeah. I tried everything in the conversation. I'm thinking that part just
wasn't done with female characters in mind. Don't know why I made this
character a woman. Didn't think it made any difference, but apparently in
some places it does. (What I don't get is why she couldn't flirt with the
half-naked male dwarf in the steam room above the tavern in the Docks
disrict...)

(I'm also reconsidering my choice of a pure-fighter. Kinda too easy, and
pretty boring not having any spells or anything. Just after my bard got
whupped all over the place I decided to try something tougher.)

Hi all,
I'm just on the first chapter, and I've got about 250 gold which I thought
was a lot! If you've got 200,000 by the end of chapter 2, Wow. I should soon
have all the great kit I want. I was kinda hoping that I would make some
good progress in the (knocking shop) Moonstone Mask as it seemed relatively
straightforward to get a clean bill of health from the temple. The trouble
is I'm making rather slow progress thus far. PS did your low charisma dwarf
female have any good, not including halitosis? Kidding. Good game tho' isn't
it? Regards,

You'd think so, but wiat until you have a look at the shops in Ch 3.
Between the shops and the forge you can chew through your gold real quick.
Especially if you do like me and spend ~40k GP (including buying the magical
base item) to have something forged only to find out that you can't use for
2 more levels.
