Here's my situation.

I had Neverwinter Nights installed on 2 computers. I upgraded the
secondary computer's OS as a fresh install. NWN was located in a
secondary partition which remained untouched. I had to install NWN to
the new OS to get it working again so I reinstalled it over the
existing installation. The NWN install erases previously saved games
instead of leaving them alone - thank you very much - so I lost my
wife's character on that machine. Fortunately, I know her character
is saved within my saved game files on my primary host computer.
Unfortunately, I have no idea how to extract it from the saved game
file. Her character does not exist on my primary computer - so I have
no way to see her character from the saved game file. Does anyone
know how I can extract her character out and get it to my secondary
computer?

There should be a standard .bic file in the savegame folder. It's
probably called Player1.bic or something very generic. I do not know
if you can just copy that file to your localvault; however, you should
be able to open it with Leto and do a Save As to localvault. Look on
nwvault.ign.com for Leto.

Sorry to say this, but just today I reinstalled and or upgraded NWN 3
times after upgrading to win XP. In order to reinstall, NWN has to
uninstall first. One of the options when it has wiped the game date is
to wipe everything else including Mods & saved games. If you chose
this by mistake then Noone can help you.

After all the crap I did, I still have my saved games.
