Alas, yes ... once you transition to a new chapter you can't go back
unless you have a saved game.

You will be able to re-hire the henchmen again.

Hehe.
Hope it all works out. Sounds like you're taking the game through its
paces. :)

Yep, like Sheldon said, unless you have a saved game to go back to, or
if you want to replay the whole thing up to this point. No going back
and forth between chapters, and IIRC you may only get a small warning
in the conversation - if any - about finishing up any unfinished
business.

I think I played with only Daelan the first time through because I was
annoyed by all the others; then played with the others to see what
kind of goodies the henchman would give me for completing their
quests.

This is kind of "cheating", but there is a free, downloadable module,
called "King Dutka's one great store" something or other. Export your
character from NWN campaign, oad the dutka module, and you can speak
with the dragon to add levels, then go through one of the doors to go
to the beginning of Chapter 2. You can use this to make up for the
levels you missed by skipping the intro. I believe there is a way to
export your character, level up, then import directly back to where
you were, too.

Er - in another game, not in real life, I assume? :-)

THank you...since my haracter did level up in the Demo game, it wouldn't
exactly be cheating...she did do it...I was expecting the game to laod
the demo (I've had other games that have done it) and was surprised when
I had to start all over.

Unfortunatyely, I have met plenty of demons in real life...they were
more corporeal, though, than ethereal...

interesting... I never played the demo, just got the game and played
the tutorial (same scenarios). I don't get into many computer games
so I wasn't aware of how demos worked. I would have expected the demo
to export your character at the end so that you could play the
character when starting the campaign.
I'm a long-time PnP DnD player, so I got NWN and just started
playing :-)
