On level three there is a locked door that you cannot open without a key.
Can't find the key anywhere. Anyone want to let me in on what I missed?
(Probably something painfully obvious).

Turns out that you have to go back to Level 1 of the dungeon. From Level 1,
there is a door that goes down to Level 3 (skipping 2). Take that door and
you'll be in the room behind that locked door.

Okay, I'm confused...I went from Level 1 of the dungeon to Level 3, where I
found a statue with a riddle. I picked the door with the correct answer to
the riddle and found an item called something like 'dungeon puzzle key'.
However, it didn't work to open the door on the second floor of the inn, and
I didn't find any other locked doors at the inn. Did I miss something or hit
a bug?

No, you're not missing anything. By going to Level 3 from Level 1 and doing
the whole statue riddle thing, you were able to open the door that I was
unable to (from the other side), because I went from 1 to 2 to 3 (the stairs
from 2 to 3 are in a different place from the stairs from 1 to 3). Sorry,
but I can't remember how to open the locked door on 2 (I actually don't
remember a locked door on two - my memory sucks).
