I just bought Need for Speed High Stakes this afternoon, but after
installing it (full installation) I get to the main screen and press play.
My CD starts up then I get a prompt 'Please insert game disk'. I registered
and I've filled out a tech form, but It'll probably be a few days before I
hear back.

My system is as follows:

Pentium 233 MMX
Windows 98 SE
64 SDRAM,
32x Toshiba Cd-rom
Voodoo3 2000 PCI graphics card
8.4 Gig drive

Any idea's why I get this prompt would be great.

Thanks,
Rick

Have you failed to mention a second CD drive, such as a writer etc, in
your system specs?

This message appears due to the copy protection of the game CD.
Electronic Arts suggest that you copy the game CD and place the copy
in your second drive (if you do indeed have one).

You may also want to try the Autopatch to see if a fix has been
written for this problem. Keep running the Autopatch until you're on
V4.29 or higher(?).

Maybe - when I started the game the first time, i got a screen
"SafeDisc". A copy-protection. I don't know how it works, but maybe it's
not found on your disc. Ask your dealer for exchange, if no more hints
can help you...
