Do herbs respawn in Morrowind?

I've never actually used Alchemy, but I'd like to start with it now. Or
else sell my herbs, because I've got a lot of them.

But I'm paranoid about using all the herbs in the game world. Do they
re-spawn? How often does it happen? Can I just loot all the herbs I
see[1], and trust that they'll be back 2-3 months later, or are they
gone for good?

[1] When I first played, two years ago, I learned that you can't pick
herbs growing in pots inside a Mage's Guild. I did that in one of the
guilds (the one with the large central room), and everyone attacked me.
I'm asking about herbs growing outside.

Herbs respawn, but slowly. Maybe every game-month? Many alchemists
have unlimitted supplies of some herbs to sell, though, so it is not a
problem. There are mods to make herbs respawn faster, to change
alchemy and the like, if you prefer.

If you go into console mode and type "tfh" for toggle full help, the
cursor will identify owned vice unowned items.

Herbs do respawn in Morrowind, though I am not certain what the rate is.
At the very least, you need to wait several 'days' before trying again.
