1) NRS will pipe in DLC 10 years after a product's release before entertaining making a new game and likely get away with it. Even then MK11's content has fizzled out.

2) WB Games' divisions including NRS have been noted as being up for sale in a piecemeal type deal more than once this year. This means they're not really interested in spending money to make new games. If NRS gets punted off to someone else then you'll know there's interest in making a new game
