I used to have a button defined in FSX that would re-load the current
aircraft only. This was a great little feature when I have been editing
instrument panels, as I could simply reload the aircraft instead of changing
airplanes, then changing back again. Unfortunately, I had to re-install FSX
and lost that key definition.Does anyone remember what command in FSX
reloads the current aircraft, so that I can create that keyboard definition
again? Thanks in advance...

Does Ctrl+F11 work?

Randy,
When I'm editing a panel, I usually use that aircraft for my initial
startup. After making a change, I simply click on the menu "flights"
and then "reset". Only takes a quick second to reload with the new
changes.

If I could remember, it's even quicker just to hit Ctrl + ;

Hi Don,
Nope, Ctrl + F11 doesn't do a thing. Thanks anyway...

There is no default set. I use CTRL+R (reload) . It needs to be set in the
Controls Section. Aircraft Reload I believe it is.

Reseet Flight should give you what you want. That is ctl+; It reloads
the flight with the same plane you opened it with.

Reset Flight will reload the flight from where it began I believe, requiring
the sim to reload scenery textures, moving plane back to the beginning of
the flight, etc. Aircraft (Reload) on the other hand, is the quickest way
to just refresh the current plane if you are, as you said, working on a
panel.

I use it all the time. Yesterday, while flying a plane with the Garmin 295
GPS, which I do not really care for, I changed the panel.cfg so that plane
will display the Garmin 500, all while I was on Autopilot. Once the
panel.cfg was modified, I save the panel.cfg, brought FSX back to the
forefront, pressed CTRL+R to Reload the Airplane textures, and within 2
seconds was enjoying the newly replaced GPS 500.

I see what you mean. I can do that too, now. I had never tried it
before because I just never have had an occasion to reload the same plane in
a flight. I can see where it would be useful for someone who edits a plane
while flying. I do like to change to another plane sometimes when I'm
flying, though. The short cut for that is Alt+A. I have that set to a button
on my yoke. I can change from a land plane to float plane in just a few
seconds and resume my flight. I do that often.

Aircraft Reload!! THAT was the command that I was looking for in FSX. I had
this command mapped to my "R" key, but lost it when I had to reinstall FSX.
Aircraft Reload simply reloads the aircraft without having to reload the
flight & scenery too. Its great for when you are working on a panel, and
simply want to relload the aircraft with a one key press. Thanks...
