I Love this thing! Just a simple program that opens a window on every
single input device you have on your computer including your keyboard.
You can watch how everything moves

Gregory, this will show you how your throttle quadrant is performing.

ManhattanMan, I want you to test your yoke Gameport - USB adapter. If
it's like mine, you will notice that the resolution is low - the
movements are in steps, not smooth. I have rudders hooked up to mine
and I believe it explains why it's so hard for me to taxi. I'll be
hooking up my new "gizmo" USB adapter and will be surprised if it does
not smooth out the movements. - For you, one of these could make the
buttons on your Cirrus work again and make input movements precise.
I'll let you know if mine works.

Here's the testing program:

Why don't you ladies just buy yourselves a good set of Saitek USB rudder
pedals and start really flying your planes? You won't need all that other
junk. <g>

Neat.. Yep, my yoke gameport/USB adapter is doing little steps, but
performs fine. All USB inputs nice and smooth. I thought about doing a
gizmo thingie, but with the keyboard sitting right in front of me on top
the yoke, it's really no different than reaching to a panel for a
switch. Plus I've had a couple of switches shot craps (hey, it's 12+
years old!) so I've swapped the functional bad switch with one of the
dysfunctional good switches, which means ordering new switches from
Cirrus to get everything back to 100%.

As far as your gameport rudders, even my USB petals can be a PITA
taxiing or getting stopped without taking out two runway lights!

All of my USB Saitek stick and rudder pedals inputs show up smooth as
silk on all inputs with an F rating. Haven't got my yoke connected at this
time. Don't use it very often. I'll check it the next time I do. It is a
Saitek USB yoke.

Oh no he didn't!!!!!!

Please tell me you didn't just compare your plastic, consumer products,
electronics superstore, gamer's rudders to my metal, full scale, Mil
Spec, TM Rudder Control System!

LOL Nope, it's just what I started out with when I first started simming
over 2 years ago. They work so well I just haven't seen any reason to change
anything. I didn't have any old legacy gaming hardware laying around to try
to salvage. I bought a complete USB flight station and it came with Saitek
controls. I couldn't stand to sim with anything less than what I now use.

I have have a Saitek yoke, Saitek pedals and Saitek throttle quadrants
(2). But they're all stowed away because I don't have a permanent sim
console setup. I just use a Saitek stick (Cyborg evo) on my pooter
desk.

On the rare occasion that I set up the proper rig in the spare
bedroom, it's quite enjoyable to use. But SWMBO won't let me keep
that setup there permanently, so generally it's all just too much
trouble. :-(

All this will change when I win the lottery, Sam... ;-)

This is the exact setup I use for all my simming except I don't have the
monitor stand. My one 27" monitor is strapped right on top of my yoke. Just
like sitting in the cockpit of a real plane'. I live alone so I don't have
to ask anyone whatI can do.<g>

Nah. I forgot to mention that I saw one just like it at the last garage
sale I attended. It was laying there on a table with some 8 track tapes and
some old Betamax video cassettes.<g>

You must be thinking of the Skynkevich 8-tracks on the webspace.

So do I, so I can sim what ever I want when ever I want to, and having just
bought UTX-Europe this morning, I'll be going to sleep some where near the
Riviera to night, or maybe in some French Alpine chateaux :o)
