Skyvector and FSX

Hi all,

I have been experimenting with Skyvector and watching tutorials on youtube on how to use it - seems to be a great tool to create VFR-flight which can also be used with Flightsim, the video says.

I know how to create a VFR-route - so far so good. But how are you supposed to use it with FSX - since you cant import your flightplan into FSX?

To create a more realistic VFR-flightplan..
I like Skyvector and would like to combine Skyvector with FSX..Somebody does it, but not how they do it in practice..

I suppose you would just use it as you would a paper sectional...plotting
departure, waypoints, and arrival. Then program that into the FSX
flightplanner by entering the start and finish airports and dragging the red
line to the intermediate waypoints. Another option would be to copy and
paste the string into FSCommander. I don't know if PlanG is capable of
accepting a pasted strings of waypoints or not. Of course you can punch in
the waypoints into an FMC if you are flying a capable plane such as the
Majestic Dash 8.

Duh! I create flight plans in FSX all the time but I don't need
Skyvector to do it. Everything is right there in one place, ready to go, in
FSX. All I use a flight plan for is to put the magenta line on my GPS to
find my heading. I make my flight by VFR using physical manual controls.
Just the way I've always done it. Never been in a plane that could fly
itself. Doesn't sound like much fun to me. Just sitting there riding
along.<g>

Oh, don't pay any attention to my reply to Danny. :-) It was a
tongue-in-cheek reply to his tweak at me. Don't take any reply from me
serious that I end with the <g> sign. I know that some simmers like to do
all those flight plans with real weather but that's not part of my simming
interest. I'm strictly a stick and rudder flyer and I look for realism in
how well it simulates something I've done before. I do it in FSX now because
I'm no longer able to do it in Real planes. <g>

I use Skyvector.com to create flight plans when I go flying IRL all the time. In fact i just made one because I'm going to do a night flight on Wed. Depart Glendale GEU and do a PHX Bravo transition and land at Chandler CHD to pick up and friend and then from CHD to the Stanfield VOR and then down to Tucson TUS
