As far as I know, you can't. I think someone tried to
do it a while back, but I don't think it panned out.
And myself, I wouldn't want to use Google Earth for
scenery, unless they could do the whole country at once.
And it would have to be high res to not look funky at low
altitudes. One problem as it is, is all the images are a
mish mash of many images, taken at different times and
seasons. You could end up with winter areas in the summer.
And 40 miles later, have it be summer.. Another 40 miles,
it's fall.. You would need four sets of Earth to cover
each season.

It's more practical to make stand alone high res sceneries.
That way you can have the same, or better detail, and all
four seasons.

You can see what it would look like if you go to that
Radar24 site that has the "sim" feature. It looks kind of funky
compared to real FSX scenery. The images they are using are not
high enough res to really look that good.

Google Earth has their own flight simulator of sorts in 'Tools'.

I played with it for about ten minutes with the mouse, then bid it adieu...

You might want to have a look at the Tile Proxy project.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/tileproxy/

I did try this program some years ago when I was using FS9 and it did
work pretty well. IIRC the install was pretty strait forward but did
require some manual editing of some setup files.

That was several years ago & things may have changed a bit in that time.

That said - the tiles downloaded from Google over ride any existing
scenery and you are just flying over a "Google Earth" landscape.

Any 3D buildings including FSX auto-gen items are not used by the tile
proxy program.

First time I used Tile Proxy in flew a DC-3 from my home town down the
road for around a hundred miles and then home again. It was pretty good.
I might well download the latest version to see how it runs.

Regards
Graham

I wouldn't.

Most try it, say neat, then go back without it.

I use an Android tablet running a free app called FsMovMap. Show a/c
centered on screen and flight plan loaded. Needs a server on PC (free
from developer site)

Holy sh*t !!! That is beautiful stuff!

And, I suspect, the end of large slabs of payware scenery.

There IS a God !!!

And she's also made it available for FS9 !!!

Woo hoo!!!
