> What is the best twin prop / jet for FSX ?
Confused... are you asking about a twin reciprocal, twin turboprop or twin
jet... or all of the above?

Pete, here is one of my favorites: Freeware Beechcraft D18S/C-45
With 2D and VC panels:

I just love the De-Havilland Buffalo. Give it a whirl, if you don't like it
just delete it. It's freeware, halfway down the page.

Never fly the 'A' model of anything.
Now you have confused me !!
Any good ones out there that are not too heavy on resources would be a
good factor too !!
[1] Please provide the criteria by which "best" should be evaluated.
[2] The De Havilland DHC-5 Buffalo to which MikeW refers is great. I
love using it to do extra-steep beta approaches with the props
reversed and landing in about 100 metres. Real adrenalin stuff, that
is. I usually wear my .38 and survival vest when I do one of those -
as well as my brown corduroy pants... ;-)

Now that we're both confused...
I would recommend this because it's very, very good:
http://www.eaglesoftdg.com/DiamondDA42.htm
looks like it's ready for FSX...
Then I would put this in it because it's the best button for button
simulation of a Garmin G1000:

When you're done, you'll have something that will keep you entertained all
summer. Ain't cheap.. but you're a rich doctor.. so what do you care?

Three favorites are the Beechcraft Duke, Piper Cheyenne and
MD Super 80 Pro. They are all framerate friendly.

Well Pete, not sure if you're asking for GA or commercial. For
commercial, Flight 1's ATR72-500 stands up well - it's a twin turbo-prop
70 seater. Payware and originally for FS2004 but there's a conversion
file to FSX. Go to www.flight1.com

Also PMDG has a payware, JS1400. VERY sophisticated start up procedure. Too
complex for my liking. Engines catch fire if not handled properly. You can
turn that feature off and ease back on the complexities, I believe. But it
has had a lot of thought put into it by PMDG. I am more of a 'jump
in...ball's to the wall...fly.
They also have a payware $20.00USD range I think, Beech 1900, turboprop.
NOT very sophisticated at all but fun and easy to fly.
