Hi...
I just upgraded to a CH Flight Sim Yoke USB, and a set of USB Pro
Pedals. Everything seems to work fine, but I've discovered a weird
annoyance. The little red "BRAKES" notice is always down in the
corner of my screen, even when I'm not pressing the toe brakes at all.
I've turned down the sensitivity for those axes, and I've increased
the null zone, too. Is there some trick to getting the sim to think
that I don't fly around with my brakes on? When I land, I worry that
I'll leave a lengthy skid mark, and blow out all the tires!
Thanks
CW

CW,

I hope you get an answer to this. I have the exact same setup and
experience the same thing. I turn the parking brakes on (ctrl .) and then
off again and the brake msg goes out.

Good luck,

Tom

Folks,

A couple of things you may want to try, as I just purchases these
pedals a week or so ago, and have no problems with them. However, I
did do a little playing, and learned the following.

One, I noticed that you when you go into the joystick assignments
(this is for FS2004) (options/controls/assignments, and go to the
joystick axes tab), and go into the CH Pro USB pedals, make sure that
the "reversed" box is set for the left and right brake axes. If you
do not, your brakes in the lower left should go off when you depress
the toe brakes, and be on when not pressed, which is opposite of what
you want.

Also, you may want to "uncalibrate" your CH pro pedals, if you for
some reason you calibrated them.

Good luck...

Hi,

I unchecked the reverse axis option tried it and then went back in a checked
them and then taxied. I no longer get the brake msg constantly. I get the
diff brake msg when using them and when applying full on both I get the
'brake' msg as it should be. Just something you might try. I know it
doesn't seem like it should work but it did for me. Good luck.

I'll give that a try just to see what happens. I've gone ahead and
disabled the toe brakes on the pedals for the time being. I've got
the left and right brakes mapped to the two red buttons on the front
edge of each side of the yoke. Buttons 1 and 2, I think they are.
Man, I hope there's a fix for this sometime soon! I want my toe
brakes!

I noticed that if I actually hold the brakes in the full back (e.g., "OFF")
position with my foot, they stay off. When I take my foot off, they usually
are just a little bit "on" and indeed, the brake message comes on. So, now
I just fly with my feet on the (bottom of) the pedals...

I had exactly this issue with them too. I solved it with FSUIPC, using its
facility to program cut-off points for inputs from devices. I simply set the
cut-off point for the input past the "resting" position of the pedals and it
all worked a treat.

Just got the Pro pedals a few days ago, and found that if the brake
sensitivity were reduced too much, I'd start getting the brake light. Had
bigger problems with the rudder sense however, that was to the point of
sending the thing back! Kick the rudder a bit in the air and I'd go into a
30 degree turning dive, and touch the nose wheel steering on the ground and
do donuts.... Downloaded FSUIPC software, which has a bundle of bells &
whistles, and includes configuration of the controllers. After reading the
user guide, a simple calibration of all axes with FSUIPC, and things are
nearly civilized. It's worth the ~$22!! try www.simmarket.com for a
looksee.
Cheers'n beers.
