These guys seem to be more serious about their flying that the
California crowd. They may be using the "launch catapult" which was
described in a PDF sketch (which I can't locate now.)

First time I ever sat in the seat of a RC plane. :-)

There are other videos on youtube, searching: "NVRC Flight"

Went over to AeroMicro yesterday (while all the freakin' weirdos were
at Walmart) Lol and looked a lots or 2.4 GHz radios, RC planes and
1,000s of parts, materials and tools to build planes.

They had a wide screen simulator very much like MSFS with a "tower"
viewpoint. Out of more than 20 circuits with a mono-prop, I probably
crashed it 16 times. The biggest problem is to mentally correct for
control inputs when the RC is approaching you (reverse) especially on
final. It's going to take some practice.
