What are the D-Sub, DVI rules again?

You have a DVI output on the graphics card - you can convert that to a
D-Sub with an adapter to plug into a D-Sub monitor - right?

But, you have a analog D-Sub coming out of a card, you can't adapt that
to run a DVI monitor... right ?

Some monitors have both analog and dvi connectors so they would work. Not
100% positive but I don't think plugging the analog signal into the dvi
input would work.

My Acer monitor came with a DMI cable and a D-Sub converter plug for
each end. I used it that way on my old computer with D-Sub video card. But
my monitor has both types of connectors on it. I never tried it with DMI on
the monitor and D-Sub on the computer. No. I', not gonna try it now to
see.<g>
