Having a right time of using X-Plane 9,run into a really bad problem...
Everytime i turn the "use pixel shaders for fog and water effects" on,i get
corrupted ground textures,ot at least they don't render properly...the water
is fine, the ground looks like Rolf Harris has been 'creating' on it.....
Turning pixel shaders off cures it,but i don't get reflective water then...
Any ideas from those who use both about this, before i phone the little pixel
people up and ask them to come and sprinkle some magic dust on my textures?
Thankyou one and all!
dAVE
You didn't mention your hardware. Have you checked the video card web
site for the latest drivers? You might try a re-install after you back
up all your add-on scenery and aircraft.

Thanks for replying!!
Sorry for posting here, just not getting many answers for this problem
elsewhere..
What i've done to try and fix things is install it on Vista, same result..
So i re-installed Windows 7,same result...
Tried the newest and oldest video drivers, same result...
FSX runs great, and there are no problems anywhere else, software wise, just X
Plane...
I'm thinking now,it may be a problem or limitation of my GPU which is a
9800GT...
If my memory serves,it did actually run ok when i first bought it on
Vista...
I very rarely get problems with my rig,but when they hit,it's usually things
i can't fix..
Many thanks for taking the time to post,
regards,
dAVE
Good luck. Your video card should be more than adequate.

Thanks!
I've just plugged in my Vista HDD,and i've found a video i did of x plane
running on my system, and it was working perfectly, with pixel shaders on and
no texture problems...
I'll just have to back off until i can jog my memory as to what has
changed...if anything...
I have tested it on Vista also and the problem is there as well now...
So,it's either drivers or the GPU itself...
