Very nice, mate!!
Plenty of scope for "tweaking" that colour scheme, too! :-))
Thanks for posting the link.

I just extracted the zip file into C:\Temp\1, and from there, ran the
exe file, and specified a path of C:\Temp\2 during the installation, rather
than accepting the default... Worked like a beaut, mate.
The result of running the exe file is a stock standard aircraft
structure folder and sub-folders, and all you have to do is put one effect
file into the FS9 Effects folder...
There are no 2D cockpit views other than straight ahead, which is a pet
hate of mine, but hey.... :-))

When I ran the exe, the installation begins. During installation, a
default path is offered for the file/s destination. I didn't take the
default, I specified C:\Temp\1.
That resulted in this structure:
....Aircraft
Model
Panel
Sound
Textures
and an Effects folder, with only one file in it.
Moved the effect to the FS9 Effects folder, moved the Aircraft folder
and sub-folders to the normal aircraft folder of FS9, and voila, mate! :-))
It is FS9. Does the aircraft look normal in the aircraft.selection
screen, but not in flight, or vice versa...?

I would suggest you try downloading:
eda2006.zip Size: 1,999,440 Date: 01-03-2006
FS2004 FAB Embraer EMB-312 Tucano T-27. An Embraer EMB-312 Tucano T-27
from EDA "Esquadrilha de Demostracao Aerea". Model by Denis and Daniel
da Silva, photoreal textures by Cristiano Magnani.
I combined with textures from:
fsfab.zip Size: 14,478,387 Date: 03-11-2008
FS2004 Embraer EMB-312 Tucano. Includes all versions of the Brazilian
Air Force (FAB), AT-27, A-27 and T-27. Painting and model by Denis da
Silva and Daniel da Silva. Package by Denis Oliveira.
Add the panel:
tucpnl1.zip Size: 2,680,136 Date: 04-30-2006
FS2004 Embraer EMB-312 Tucano Panel. A photoreal panel. All gauges are
new and in XML format. By Paolo Dessani.
The original gauge called for in the panel.cfg (Window 00, line88) was
not supplied with the download. If you already have the cfr_rada.gau
file, you can alter the following lines in the panel.cfg to add a
simulated radar display.
//gauge88=Tucgps!gps_square, 710,566,116,108
gauge88=CFR_rada, 739,591,61,57
If not, you can use the 74spr_rada.gau (which is supplied, but doesn't
display as well).
gauge88=74spr_rada, 739,591,61,57
Now you will have cockpit views, and a vc.

Thanks, Paul. Much appreciated. I'll check it out for sure.

hehehe, there is a similar real-life story about former MiG-21 pilot
taking off from LDZD in C172. He took off, flew for some minutes looked
back and when he saw (to his horror) and airport behind he turned back,
landed, and said "I'll never fly again"...
I wonder if anyone else out there might like to do the same (as a bit
of project) and give us their findings. Just a thought.

I melded the early model (which does have the extra cockpit views) with

I went to repaint the whole thing, but, for some reason that's beyond
me, two of the bitmaps couldn't permanently be altered (I could alter them
in a graphics program, but the changes wouldn't "stick" - weird!).
I eventually found the gauge that Propwash mentioned in a Constellation
model somewhere.
I never could find the ~ 14 MB liveries pack that Propwash mentioned
anywhere...

Didn't realize I forgot to add source. All three files are at

Well I'll be! :-))
I don't know how I managed not to find that fsfab.zip on Flightsim when
I looked, but I've downloaded it now, so I'll have another crack at the
whole process, and hopefully end up with my personalized livery this time
around.
Thanks very much for the extra info', mate.

But what I'm also interested in is what people think of the
performance/handling of that model versus the other model by
J.E.Narcizo.
I'm still having trouble tweaking the aircraft.cfg file ( I don't know
how to modify .air files) to make the thing behave satisfatorily.)

I'm not speaking for Gregory, of course, just mentioning that he's the
expert here that I know of.
For FS9 you can use AirEd:

Which sections of the Aircraft.cfg file are you trying to "tweak", and
what are you trying to achieve?

Thanks for the link to D/L Air Ed. I've had a bit of a look at it and
I'm thinking I should leave the air.cfg alone till I know a lot more
about it. Looks like scary stuff.
As for the aircraft.cfg file, it's probably not the right place to
make the tweaks I've been attempting, but here's what I've been
attempting:
[1] Make the plane fly at the correct maximum speed (about 250kts)
by changing the engine and prop power scalars.
[2] Make the plane have 2 deg nose up pitch at 90kts with gear down
and full flaps on apporach (descending at 500fpm) by changing flap
lift scalar.
[3] Make the plane slow to to below 90kts on approach (see [2]) with
throttle at minimum by changing flap drag scalar.
Probably a caveman's apporach to things, but hey, waddya expeck from a
M60 totin' ex-grunt, eh? ;-)

Just tested the Shorts Tucano trainer by Brian Franklin (download
from Simshed) with RAF textures. FS9 and FSX. Needed a bit of
tweaking, but now flies to my liking. Quite like this one.
