While messing with Google Earth looking around the area near
Appalachicola, Florida (east of Panama City), looking for something new
to do when we're there in a few weeks, I found a neat little strip FA43
on one of the barrier islands. Dog Island, just south of Carrabelle,
only accessible by air or boat or passenger ferry a few days a week, one
eight cabin hotel, and you need to haul all your food with you since
there are no cafes or grocery stores on the island.

Here's some google earth pic's, and a FSX version.

30 or 40 years ago it'd been fun, but now, no way... :-/

Cool little strip. I notice the $5.00 landing fee. Gotta feed the dog I
suppose!

I will be flying that one Sunday.
