google earth flight sim

how do i get the flight sim to start? I have downloaded, opened, &
entered the flight sim software. I've got heads up display and
everything. Just can't get it to start.

What is it that I'm doing wrong?

Hi Marcus,
Chances are you aren't doing anything wrong, its just that the flightsim
option in Google Earth has a bunch of keyboard commands that you need to
know. I assume you are using the latest version of Google Earth. Here are
the commands that I know about:

The comma & period controls left & right brakes respectively.
The C key centers both the ailerons and the rudder.
LeftBracket and RightBracket controls the flaps.
PageUp and PageDown controls the throttle.
UpArrow and DownArrow controls the elevator.

Once airborne:
G retracts/extends the landing gear.
Shift F retracts the flaps.
LeftArrow and RightArrow controls the ailerons.
Shift LeftArrow and Shift RightArrow controls the rudder.

To land,
G extends the landing gear.
The F key extended the flaps.
Simultaneously pressing comma & period brakes to a halt.

Spacebar pauses the simulation.
The H key toggles the heads up display on and off.
Alt LeftArrow and Alt RightArrow turns the pilot's head.

If you own a joystick, it can be enabled in the Google Earth flight
simulator, just check the box for joystick control. After checking this box,
I had to close down Google Earth and then restart it before it recognized my
joystick as the controller. But as far as I can tell the program doesn't
support rudder pedals. The joystick will control ailerons and elevator, as
well as throttle if you have a throttle control on your joystick. If you
have a hat switch on your joystick, it will also control panning the view
left and right (turn head.)
As far as I can tell, you can only start out from pre-programmed
airports, although you can land or take off from any airport that you can
fly to. I hope this helps...
