Personally, I've got waayyyy too much $$$ invested in FSX to dump it,
and with my new barn burner Falcon North West PC, it's a pure joy.
Tried the early P3D and was totally underwhelmed.... No interest in the
X thing as long as FSX keeps me happy... But, I'm easy... :)

No, I Haven't had much free time anyway.
Mum had broken leg back in March , she is somewhat better now but still
needs at lot of time. Craig is still the same.

I might install it again for a while - I miss not flying the DH Twotter :)

The X thing is moving faster than P3D. The enthusiasm with the sim being
open to all to contribute is amazing. There are some clever buggers out
there and it's so easy to produce your own scenery
I should do your Warthoggs field to show you

Anyway I've just downloaded seasonal trees to replace default. Anything you
download you just drag straight into the relative folder and it works. No
scenic library to configure.

Still enjoying FSX which I find is a lot easier. Take off an you are on a
rising safe highway. With XPlane you catch the drop, check the roll hold the
surge. Pick up your coffee and it's all over - can't do that at this point.
On reading some forums the roll is overdone and this bug needs rewriting.

Can't beat the PMDG 737 and the natural looking Orbx scenery in FSX. Objects
are seen further away in XPL. The general comments are that FSX airfield are
too easily seen and stand out with its glaring vasi's. The airfield blend
better in XPL but easy for visual guys to get lost.

With FSX I still get some textures like Vasi's going into black squares also
some grid textures doing likewise at time ie out at sea or a block in the
distance. I don't know if that is my system or what.

I think FSX impresses people (watching over your shoulder) more. It just
looks more natural in non scenic areas but turn off your add on's such as
Orbx and it's real shitty. Scenic area such as lakes and mountains XPlane
can be gob smacking.

Anyway DrP you sound as if your system is what perhaps what I should be
chasing after 4 years of pretty good gear. Frame rates are coming down with
the more I plant into the two sims.
So could you describe what you are driving there inside the PC tower or are
you gonna tell me to mind my own Falcon business??

:-)

I've always been meaning to grab one of those for FSX - I recall it being on
special not too long ago
There's a good freeby here but interior perhaps too homemade simmy looking.
I like photreal interiors right down to the rust and scratches.

Thanks for that - I'm downloading now in preparation for when I get FSX
reinstalled.

Thanks - the last six months has been pretty "interesting". I won't

Win 7 Pro, 4ghz i7-490K, Asus Maximus VII Ranger mother board, 16gb ram,
GTX 970 2gb video, dual 24" monitors. Run everything in FSX maxed and
have yet to even see a serious studder, don't even pay attention to FPS
anymore. Don't run any ultra detailed heavies, strictly low & slow
stuff, and it does great. Every once in awhile get a freeze, or some
weird display problem like the airframe turns to sticks, but I think
that's more a problem with the model.
Now, mind yer own Falcon business. :)

oppps - make that GTX-970 4Gb. Cute name for cpu = Devil's Canyon and
DDR3 memory = Ripjaws. ohhhhhhh!!

The Canberra I got has pink interior textures again despite a fix.
Maybe the fix dropped out I dunno but obviously a problem with the model
Didn't want to turn either and that was another fix
A lot of hype came with that piece of payware so those faults shouldn't be.
The cockpit is beautifully done I must admit.
I think it was Vic who dumped it
Thanks for the info. Got an Asian contact who builds to those specs at just
over half commercial price so I must check his pages.
Need a screenie link of your set up. What! two 24 inch monitors? I've never
ventured in that direction but I know many of our guys have.
I have another 22inch sitting idle. hmmm.. this one's 24"

Can imagine you sitting back with sunglasses and a cocktail loping over the
Ozarks :-)

Funny I fort - speak about the devil. Justflight today offering me a
complete free replacement upgraded Canberra package that fixes all including
the pink textures.
Also it is now compatible with P3D. Yes I'll be in to that.
