[sigh] Yesterday was an interesting day, Donny.

In the afternoon I attended a talk given by Michael Sexton SC, the NSW
Solicitor-General and author of several books on Australian history
and politics. The topic du jour was "Is freedom of speech under
threat?"

And that mind-expanding experience was further enhanced later, in the
evening, when I went to a beautiful performance by The Acacia Quartet
(which was actually a quintet for the evening as they had a guest
violist, Emil Cantor, playing with them.)

So... to the business at a hand... your offered deal...

Sadly, I have to say "Pass!".

Why? The underpinning principle of Usenet, IMHO, is freedom of
speech. As such, your mob, a sad, psychologically impaired
gaggle of Merkin flightsimming "patriot" bullyboys trying to exclude
people whose only "crime" has been to counter the propaganda of
state-sanctioned mass murder which they regurgitate (in a newsgroup
which is supposed to be about flight simming) in their pathetic
attempts to defend the indefensible, is abhorent to flight simming
veterans, like myself, who have seen through the murderous bullshit
that war is.

Michael Sexton's talk was particularly apposite to this here situation
because you have been a staunch (blind) defender of the cyber-bullies
who tried to quash freedom of speech in order to prevent their war
propaganda from being challenged.

In fact, when I came here to peacefully join the flightsimming
conversation a few months ago, I was again attacked by you and your
gang of cyber-hyenas, and again you ran away to the safety of Fort
Dallas when it dawned on you that you could not win your mad game.

Actually, given that you are an ex-policeman, I'm not surprised that
you don't value freedom of speech. It's been my experience that the
police are more interested in defending "The Establishment" than they
are in defending the freedom of speech of those who wish to challenge
it. In other words, the police are the paid bullies of "The
Establishment". That shit don't work in Usenet, Donny, so I'm
afraid it's back to Fort Dallas for you guys...

Chicken or the egg, Donny? Which came first?

There have been harsh words from both sides ever since the war
started.

But the KEY FACT which your side always tries to sweep under the
rug is that your side was waging a campaign of verbal abuse towards
me WELL BEFORE I ever responded in kind.

In fact I gave several warnings, WELL BEFORE I joined the fray, that I
would counterattack any personal abuse (attacks) directed at me.

It's called SELF DEFENCE, Donny. Self defence, in the face of
unjust personal attack, is the one valid reason, in my book, for
waging war in a newsgroup.

You disingenuous "reasoning" always overlooks the FACT that
until you lost the war which killed the newsgroup, Donny, I was
COUNTER-ATTACKING. i.e. I was RESPONDING TO the
unjust personal attacks coming form YOUR side.

And what was this war all about? It was a POLITCAL war, waged by
a gang of faux "patriots", aimed at personally attacking, vilifying,
and libelling someone who expressed views critical of US foreign
policy (and the bullshit that war is generally).

So, in a nutshell, Buttimore, you're still peddling bullshit and still
trying to shift the blame onto me so that you don't have to
acknowledge the fact that you supported, egged-on, and defended
a bunch of political cyber-bullies who waged A POLITICAL WAR
that killed the newsgroup.

Even in this latest post of yours you personally attack me with
abusive rudeness because I had the temertiy to point out the

In other words, your response to my expressing an oft expressed
opinion about the police is to hurl personal abuse at me.

That is EXACTLY the type of response which started, and continually
fuelled, the war which killed the newsgroup, Donny. Own it !!!

To break it down for you, Donny, the war which killed the newsgroup
was a war of words wherein one side (your side) said "If you express
views we(*) do not like, we will wage a war of personal abuse against
you." The other side (me) said "I utterly reject your attempts to
intimidate and silence me with personal abuse. BRING IT ON !!! "

(*) And who were the "we" who decided it was their right to bully
people who expresssed views they did not agree with? Why, surprise,
surprise, it was a mere half dozen or so American "patriots" and a
couple of their silly little sycophants.

In fact, for the most part, the (unjust) war against me was waged by
just three people: BobCopterSix, BasilBrush (and we all know who that
was), and YOU !!! So, for the most part, it was YOU GUYS who waged
