I'm thinking about bying this game, but somebody told me it takes a very
long time to play this game.

Is there anybody who knows the game and can tell me something about it and
especially about the playing time.

It takes about 30 hours to play from start to finish. If you are not a proper
gamer then dont bother as this is for serious gamers.

I Disagree with the Above reply....Not that it takes a long time to
finish..
I have NEVER finished a single game...I have many hundreds of hours of
play time...

I found this game as a 4 floppy copy of the Original Civilization
in 1994 maybe at a local fleamarket.

No Instructions or Nothing :(

I popped it into my AMIGA500 & had more fun than ANY OTHER comp game I
have Ever played.

I got CivNET as a markdown for $2 at a now defunct game/toy chainstore.
Now I can play 2 Civs or with my daughter as no one else is Cool enough
to play this...

Just this week I have seen a single player version of Civ2 for $5 at a
local Supermarket.

I HIGHLY recommend this game....if you think youre interested TRY IT..!!!
its a small amount of cash & it may be the best time youve ever spent @ a
Computer too.

I play this only on the simplest mode & I just progress as best I can til
Im not doing so well,or decide on a new strategy. Its just great.

I have Civ2 & an alternate version butI dont like them as much.

I have the Microsoft ripoff whos name escapes me ...But I dont like it as
much. Why play something else when I can play the best..??

Civ 4? I love this game! Yes it can be long. It will keep you up
literally all night and into the next morning if you let it. It's not so
much that it is long but there's just a lot to do. There are actually
different game speeds so you can finish an entire game in one sitting. But
if you, like me, enjoy epic adventures, you can play the slowest speed in
which it may take a month or more to complete one game. It's all a matter
of taste, but I can say, as a fan of the series since the mid 1990's, it
never gets dull.
