In case anyone didn't know the following are some command line options for
Mechwarrior 2 and Ghost Bear's Legacy. While I'm working on the patches for
the MW2 missions to be played under GBL you guys can use this...

c:\gbl\mw2 ????scn1

In your GBL directory (or MW2) just type 'mw2 ????scn1', where ???? are the
four letters corresponding to the scenario's name which you want to play.
Here's a list in case you don't have them:

MW2 Wolf Falcon Ghost Bear's Legacy Special
yell pink bass bran apac x
oran gree jess gui1 azte ???
teal red_ clai gui2 cali
taup fuch newc gui3 husk
jenn cind jeah gui4 dobe
sabl rust tim_ guin iroq x
grey umbe andy nava x
brow tan_ fost osag x
amy_ heid hoff pers
silv plum zack shar
aqua whit sean siou x
kim_ jill fran tabb
cyan puce asah terr
maro blon pete coll ???
gold bron cath
iren mary sach

YELL would correspond to Pyre Light, BASS to Trial on Alshain, etc. They're
in order. The Special scenarios are possibly multi-player scenarios...I
don't know tho', since I'm waiting on DOS NetMech *grin* (patiently, I might
add, and without complaining). The only ones I could get to work (where I
could actually play the mission) have 'x's beside their names. The others I
think presume you're an enemy mech and so you just lock up. You can use the
external camera however, and I DO suggest people load these scenarios up just
to look at the awesome map/worlds. Check out CALI in particular. The
bridges are walkable I think, as I accidently got it to work once with a
Nova. I jetted up to the mesa where they intersect before it quit on me.
*grin* Pretty awesome stuff.

NOTE: Be warned, as the only way to quit the ones WITHOUT 'x's is to use
CTRL-Q. At least, that's what I had to do, since escaping to DOS, or
ejecting/self-destructing/etc. didn't work. Embarrassingly enough, I had to
bang the keyboard like 4-5 episodes (load mission, can't quit back to DOS,
reboot...) before I figured out that CTRL-Q was the escape sequence
(appropriately so). *chuckle* Duh.

Ok. Just to make sure people understand how to do it, here's some examples:
Type the following exactly as seen in your GBL/MW2 directory.

mw2 yellscn1
mw2 bassscn1
mw2 caliscn1

NOTE: can't run GBL (and possibly Special) missions from MW2's directory. I
did all of my work from GBL, and have yet to go hack on MW2's stuff.

First example would run Pyre Light. Second would run Trial on Alshain.
Third would load that mission I talked about above. King of the Hill I think
it's called. Hope it works for you! Awesome map.

Anyway, enjoy. I'm still working diligently on the Weapon Editor, and it's
gonna' be a non-Windows DOS app. Heh. Windows ssssssssucks. *grin* Dos
rules. (Call me non-conformist, but I resent the fact that an OS was
advertised in big huge letters on the front of our Wal-Mart Superstore, as
well as on our local contemporary Rock radio station which, until the advent
of MS Win95, had never ever mentioned ANYTHING to do with nerdy computers
*grin* - Geesh!) Oh yeah, I *do* have Win95 on my system. Heh heh. *laugh*
I'll give it this much : it DOES and feel better than Win 3.?, but unless
you've got 32,768 MegaBytes of memory, games run like a Kodiak with a 200XL
engine. Heh.

Care,
Chris

Hi all! Thanks for the info, Jagg.... Just assimilating new messages.

Incidentally, I'm running '95 on a DX4/120 and I do like it. Most of
it, anyway. Hacking the system carefully and thoroughly can really
boost its efficiency. And there really are lots of features to take
advantage of. And frankly, nearly everything seems to work for me.

I now have '96 (the "update fixing 36[?] known bugs") so that should
help.... But I'm going to have Linux as well soon. -8)
