Q Falcon mission "Plum Wine"

I've already blown away every Wolf mission... I'm currently going
through Falcon missions...
I'm stuck in "Plum Wine"...
I have to destroy any command vehicles... There was a convoy heading
for a wolf dropship... I destroyed the convoy but I can't destroy the
dropship! I've even cheated to see if it's possible... it's NOT. The
dropship lands... I fire upon it as it's landing... I fire on it
continuously... it starts to lift off... I'm still firing on it...
eventually it dissappears and says "Wolf dropship has escaped...
mission failed" Is there some other way of destroying it? I've tried
all weapons... chain and group fire... nothing works.
I even tried blowing up one of the munitions depos... thinking maybe
the explosion would hit it... that didn't work either.

In any event your tactics need to be changed.
First the key is NOT destroying the dropships. You can win the mission with out
doing that, though you won't get credit for the targets of opportunity. There
are TWO convoys. You need to INSPECT each vehicle in BOTH convoys and destroy
the command staff. Once you destroy the command staff in each convoy then the
rest of the vehicles and the dropships are not a factor (except as a tertiary
objective.)

Personally, I just blow away all vehicles in the convoys from long range,
take care of the mechs and head back to the buildings for inspection.
However I recall only 2 convoys. Never did destroy the dropships though

The objective of the mission is NOT to destroy the Dropships. You have to
search in the three convoys for any vehicles that are identified as
command vehicles. Those are your targets. BTW, there are three convoys,
so you better move fast

Cheat harder. Equip yourself with infinite jump jets to stay with
it longer, turn off heat tracking, and load your mech with lasers.
Eventually, it will blow up.

It's possible to get the dropships, but not neccesary. Load up with
heatsinks and ER-LARGE-Lasers. Make starmates missle boats. Get both
convoys first (I don't think you have to inspect them, just kill them).
After the second convoy and any defending mechs are dead, blast the
nearest dropship. When it takes off, it will hover about 900 meters in
the air. You can't see it, but you can target it and hit it. Blast as
fast as your heat sinks will allow. It takes a while, but when its
dead, go the second one (already 900 feet up). When its gone, inspect
the ammo dumps in town (they're defended!).
I think I hit the dust-off site with about one minute left. It's close,
but possible.

I managed to destroy both of them, but it required the use of the
mightymouse cheat code. I just hit my jump jets after the dropships
take off, and use them to maneuver my Mech's altitude in relation to
the dropship while firing weapons at it. You may also need the blorb
invulnerability code for landing, just in case you hit the ground too
hard.
